Okay I know this is recced by everyone but I started reading it early on in my bagginshielding days and it got me to love all the dwarves and dwarf culture (such respect for them, on the level usually reserved for elves) and to actually read the lotr books (i know i’m trash, i’d read the hobbit but tom bombadil put me off lotr for yEARS). really opened my eyes to all i’d been missing out on. ALSO MADE ME SHIP GIGOLAS.
Children of the Soulmark by squire 93k explicit FUCK THIS IS SO GOOD! Really well done soulmate au where Bilbo and Thorin meet way before canon but it’s amazing and heartbreaking and lovely and hot. Just go read it!
