hey, Dets, I was wondering, can you tell me anything about Fris’ parents? Does she get along with them? Do they take part in the great Watch? Do they dote on their grandkids and are they intimidated by Thror and Hrera or not? I noticed that there isn’t any info on them in Fris’s Meet A Dwarrowdam thingy. Thanks!

Hey! Yeah, Ais and Folgar have been watching… but they’re mostly on the sidelines here, too many bosses and not enough workers, that sort of thing!

They ADORE Fili and Kili. ADORE. THEM.

They’re not really intimidated by Thror OR Hrera – well, not any more. Ais is… a lot more chatty and familiar and bustling than Hrera thinks is strictly proper, but they’re decent friends. Ais thinks Hrera has a gigantic stick up her *ahem*, but respects her bravery and stoicism and intelligence. Folgar likes Hrera’s caustic humour, and likes to tease her a bit to draw it out. She ignores that with all the bristly dignity in her.

Ais and Folgar are a very chatty, VERY joking, very busy sort of couple!!!

At first both Ais and Folgar were rather awed and cowed by Thror… but all the time in the Halls has rubbed the edges off his position. He sometimes joins Folgar and his friends for their jolly old drinking-and-pipes-and-darts sessions. He is a lot more quiet and reserved than either of them, but enjoys the company and the comradery.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to fit them into the massive cast of the main fic. (also @fuckthisimgoingtoerebor​ would KILL ME.) Maybe they’ll get a ficlet or something.

However, Legolas was not a small mischievous mayhem machine with inclinations towards petty theft and tall tales. Gimizh is very proud of his reputation! The Terror of Erebor comes by his name honestly (it’s the only thing he comes by honestly, lmao)

They do have their imaginations, their energy, and their endless curiosity in common!

My kid!Legolas was, though, totally and completely and WORRYINGLY FEARLESS. He has, quite frankly, no sense of personal danger. To him, the world is wonderful and glorious and benevolent, and he cannot be harmed by it. Leap into river without knowing the depth? sure! Launch self through the air from tree to tree, trying to emulate a squirrel? Hells yes! Throw self backwards off a moving platform without knowing what is behind you? Did it yesterday. Twice. Stick arm in that hollow tree without knowing what is nesting in it? YOLO. 

tbh, if kid!Legolas had ever (by some miracle of time travel) met Gimizh… a teeny criminal mastermind with endless ENDLESS ideas for mischief meets a teeny daredevil with no brakes and a competitive streak… can you imagine. No. No.
