Hey Nonnie! Totally true, bc I don’t promote it at ALL, and I don’t think I will, tbh – I only set it up bc someone asked me about it. Here’s my reasoning.
I live in a two-income home, which we are slowly (god, so slowly) paying off. I have a good job, which I love. I’m able to feed myself, my family, and pay for childcare using my earnings and a bit of forward planning (I love my garden!! and I love baking). We budget carefully, and we save a bit of money each week, donate a bit each week. We’re not flush, but we are chugging along ok. We’re ok.
Other folks who sell their work, art, words, time and effort, are finding it hard to manage rent and food. They need transport, utilities, clothes. There’s natural disasters everywhere when you turn the TV on these days. All those folks need a donation or a contribution WAY more than I do.
So, though the thought is super appreciated, but I’m sorted for money! If people would like to show their appreciation to me, I am always turned into a stammering blushy squirmy mess by a nice review, the nightly kudos email, a bit of art, a song, or just a keysmash. Seriously, that’d do it, for me. I am a simple potato with simple needs 🙂
I’m honestly HONESTLY more content with money flowing towards those folks who need it. But thank you, Nonnie 🙂
