It’s so arrogant to call your fic canon and tell people to treat it as Tolkien canon. Your interpretation is not better or more accurate than anyone else’s just because your fic is popular.

Okay, here’s how it works: somebody else came into my askbox, the way you just did then, and said a nice thing about my fic. They said they couldn’t tell the difference between my fic and canon, and that they had enjoyed my story. 

Somebody else. Not me.

I thanked them, and said I was glad they liked it. 

When did I say to treat my fic as canon? 

*crickets chirping*

That’s what I thought.
