Dwalin totally has all of his brother’s stuff that he left behind in his rooms, mostly untouched. Orla will occasionally find him in there, quietly sitting on Balin’s overstuffed chair, or cleaning his weapons that didn’t go to Moria.

Maybe Dori made waistcoats a bit of a Thing for dwarves? I mean, they love their layers. And it gets to show of pretty fabrics and embroidery. Or maybe I just want to picture some of my favorite Sansukh dwarves in waistcoats.
