Laerophen enjoys doing music stuff with Wee Thorin, and they play together. Laerophen once got stuck in a small corridor following Gimizh on a cookie raid. Bofur fished him out

After Gimli enters the halls, do he and Kili and Narvi get together and get drunk and complain about their respective idiot elves? And together they count down the time until Dagor Dagorath and make sure they’re all ready, because by Mahal they will see their elves again, and no stupid dark vala will stop them

(if anybody else overheard them and tried to agree about ‘DUMB ELVES’ they would probably get tankards thrown at them)

One day Thorin couldn’t get his bedhead under control and had to walk to breakfast with it. Fíli, Kíli and Frerin burst out laughing, Hrera gracefully flies up and Frís smirks. The fathers whistle because he totally didn’t got it from their side.

I think Thrain and Frerin would have waited with Thorin, though.

Bofur made a fabulous set of Brothers Ri dolls. He got Dori to help him design the clothes (they’re all gloriously dressed). They all have great hair. The Dori doll has a mini loom (sold separately) and bolas. The Nori doll has little knives (and is not suitable for children under 15-20 because of this). The Ori doll has a tiny slingshot and a big book.

You know who else is a kid favorite? Gloin. He is unusually patient with small fry, and answers all their questions. He wasn’t good with kids when he was younger, but got better while watching Oin (who is a fabulous child-wrangler).

He’s just so good at it, always telegraphing his movements, a genius at the ‘distract from object-of-current-want’ before the meltdown happens, so good at getting them interested in things like reading and patterns and numbers. He’d be FAB AT IT.

(I also agree with the Oin-the-brill-child-wrangler idea: I think this is an offshoot of his medical practice. He’s all gruff, blunt sympathy with adults – but gentleness incarnate with sick kids.)

hey, I saw you reblogged something about sense8. Just a head’s up, apparently some pretty terrible and possibly triggering things happen to a trans lady in the show (haven’t watched it but there was a post going around). So you and your followers may want to be check that before watching, to be on the safe side, cuz it might be really upsetting for some. but i hope you can enjoy the show! Dwarven children totally love Dwalin. They just attach themselves to him and are all heart eyes. He’s a little gruff, but he does like kids. He usually keeps some sweets handy (hidden pockets anyone?). It always cracks Orla and Balin up to see Dwalin surrounded by kids. Also he gives A+ piggyback rides.
