Thinking about Mizim/Gloin grandparental headcanons is a giant squee of cute. <3

It absolutely is.

Gloin is the most sappy grandpa who ever EVER lived. Even though Gimizh is universally considered to be Terror on Legs, he can do no wrong in Gloin’s eyes. He is utter perfection. Just mentioning Gimizh can make Gloin’s face soften into lines of total adoration. Gloin would absolutely be the one to give Gimizh a toy axe (at faaaar too young an age for it) – and watch beamingly as Gimizh proceeded to whack everything in sight with it.

Mizim is the indulgent Nanna who gives sneaky treats to her little monster. She is the one who squirrels away old clothes for a dress-up box and old blankets for fort-making. She is ABSOLUTELY the one who, instead of cleaning the small painted handprints on the wall, sticks a frame on them instead and labels it ‘Gimizh, aged 14 1/2′. She would be the one to let tiny fingers play with her glorious and abundant white mane and beard, tangling and knotting it with beads and bells which she would wear all day – no matter where her business takes her (it would take hours to undo all the snarls).

do you think dwarves would be fond of children of other races?dwarves with children is so cute, I like to think they would generally love all children they came across, but that’s just me :)

I absolutely do. I think that, on the whole, the vast majority of Dwarvenkind would be very indulgent and loving towards all children, no matter the race.

I have even put that into the story! Check out how Gimli acts around Freda and Eothain! (and he hasn’t interacted with Bergil yet, but give it time)

I have a confession. ***whispers*** I feel like I’m the only one but I’ve only read Sansukh once. I want to read it again but there were so many places where you made my heart physically hurt and I’m not emotionally equipped to do it again. Maybe when it’s completed but, even then, probably not.

That’s totally okay, Nonnie! I do whip out my emotional heart-peeler several times during the fic, and nobody is saying you have to endure read it at all if that’s not your thing! I am hugely HUGELY grateful you have read it and given it a shot anyway. Thank you so much!

I read the anon question about wifi in Valinor and thought of this head canon: In the Halls of Mandos, the elves learn about what happens from seeing Vaire’s tapestries. How fast do you think that she and her helpers make those? (And if she doesn’t have helpers, I’m not sure if she does or not, it would take even longer.) I imagine that there were be times when there wouldn’t be a new tapestry up for a while and that is the equivalent of TVs shows going on hiatus and breaks. (Part 1)

(Part 2) Like, they’re completely engrossed in the tapestry depicting their families and friends, eagerly scrolling down it to see what happens next, and being utterly disappointed to see that it ends on a cliffhanger or that something they didn’t see coming happens and they have to wait for Vaire and her helpers to finish the next one. (At this point, it’s not uncommon to hear elves yell and, um, ‘comment’ loudly on the events.) (Poor Namo.)

(Part 3) It’s even worse for the elves who are outside of/have left the Halls. They always have to wait longer to learn what happens. So they end up asking (read: interrogating) the newly reborn elves and arrivals for news.

BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Now to me this begs the question: which of the elves coughMAGLORcough write speculative fanfic and meta in-between ‘seasons’/tapestries?
