I already wrote you a PM today, but I listened to LotH AGAIN and WOW. So many chills. Your work is so precise, each note falls like a raindrop until the river just cascades in your ears. It’s truly magnificent. I understand you’ve worked a LONG time on this, and since self-confidence is not proportional to talent, you were nervous about posting this (which I really get- sending one’s baby out in the world is daunting). Every second was worth the wait. Thank you so much for making this.

I am having a small conniption. Thank you SO SO much. 

I know there are things in it that I would tweak and fix – the balance here, the orchestration panning there (I can’t hear the trumpets enter during the loud bit anymore!!! AUGH) and there’s a bit of noise which I simply couldn’t strip out during EQ – the rainbow lorikeets in the backyard, a bit of mic bumping, grrr

that’s the sort of thing that weighs super SUPER heavy in my mind when I post this sort of thing, and they seem to grow and grow – and so I get mega-nervous, yeah. I know I should just let the song talk, but augh I have worked on it for SO long, you can’t help but think ‘if I just fix this…’ 

You are beautifully kind, really. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you so, so, so much. 

How are Orla’s cousins doing in Erebor? They didn’t feature much in the new chapter, and I’m curious. I hope that they’re getting lots of dwarfling cuddles and good food.

Oh, we’re gonna get a LOT of them next chapter! I wanted to clear away the wedding stuff first, though – the next chapter is ‘WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?’ heheheheheh!

So yeah, we’re gonna see plenty of Kara and Ashkar interacting with Orla (and a very bewildered Dwalin) soon!

I have a potentially stupid question, sorry in advance! But near the end of Dis’ main scene in the new chapter, it almost seemed like she could actually hear Vili? Or was that just Gimli telling her what Vili said? I know Thorin told Gimli to tell Dis that Vili watched her daily, which he did, but Vili spoke after that and it kind of seemed like she heard him. So, am I just nuts from sleep-deprivation, or could she actually hear him (veil thinning as she gets closer to it?)

awwww, that’s not a stupid question, not at all! Nah, she’s not hearing him – but I made a choice to drop all the ‘Gimli repeated’ lines towards the end of the scene – they only slowed the pace and they were implied anyway 🙂

But dang, I do like that idea…!!!

I had already been listening to the instrumental score of Light on the Horizon on loops for a while since you linked to that a while back while it was still a work in progress, but. DETS. THE FINISHED ONE. IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL. I ADORE THIS SONG.

Dain totally is watching the whole scene eating snacks like a little shit he is and we love. But then THEN- Dis happened and ouch my heart and tHE SONG DETS MAHAL BEARD WOMAN I’M NOT CRYING OKAY ITS JUST I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS RIGHT NOW AND I CANT- I CANT- FUCK I’M READING THE WHOLE THING AGAIN *sobbing mess*

I’m super happy you’re updating so swiftly… I ended up several chapters behind and sort of lost several months ago and am basically waiting for the last chapter to finally be put up so I can sit down from the first chapter and binge-read the whole thing in one go and explode XD

awwww, I’m glad! I am gonna have to slow down a little now, though – the Dwarfling is going to be home with me all day for the next week and a half! Which will be WONDERFUL – and EXHAUSTING, heh. 

I really wanted to have this story finished by the end of the year, but I don’t know if I can make it, what with the holidays etc! I will certainly try to put out another chapter as soon as I can. But I now suspect that I will finish early next year, in January.
