LMAO I KNOW, I was trying to make everyone think it was gonna be a sad mortality-sucks fic, hehehe. And to be fair, most of what I write is marinated in angst, then fried in pain and probably covered in angst sauce to finish.

i just decided to change it up with a little happy thirsty smuts instead 😉

DETS I READ MITHRIL IN HIS BEARD AND I THINK I LOVE YOU. I thought it’d be sad bc mortals aging and all that, but then it was just Legolas being all hot and bothered bc of the steaming hot dwarf he’s been married to for fifty years asahdasjff AND THE SMUT WAS SO GOOD, and I also really loved all the shorter parts before, with Legolas observing the changes in his friends and Gimli, and them living their bright future in a land with safe roads and good cross-kingdom relations, AND SAM’S PART AAAHA

AHH NONNIE! you’ve made me so happy to read that! That was part of the plan: that it would at first seem like an ‘oh no – mortality! (DUN DUN DUN!)’ fic, and we’d be bracing ourselves to see Legolas being all sad about it….

…and then Legolas would totally flip the script by basically going, ‘NOPE, TWICE AS HOT NOW, HOW DOES HE DO THAT,’ and jumping Gimli’s bones, lmao.

SO STOKED YOU LIKED THE SMUT! I had fun with the brinkmanship and the sheer non-humanness of them this time around 😀 Very experienced pair this time – as opposed to say, ‘Snowmelt’ in which they don’t know a dang thing about each other! So much talking and joking, though. These two never shut up, even in bed!

So I’m forever salty about how short all the elves hair is in the movies like no that’s not long it’s like two years of hair growth And for immortal beings that is so LAME… like I’m talking we need big full length hair waist long minimum ok elves like long hair and by god they’ll get long hair

OOOH YES, I haven’t seen much written about this! That’s a really, really good point, Nonnie. The only two elves in the films with hair that even approaches the stated length are Tauriel and Galadriel. Huh. 

Elrond, Legolas, Celeborn, Lindir, Haldir, Thrandy, even Arwen – ALL the rest are extremely short-haired, for elves. No bowstrings are gonna come out of THOSE heads! 

Perhaps it’s a fashion trend of the Third Age? Perhaps it’s the Elven equivalent of a mohawk dyed pink – Middle-Earth punk rockers?

Aragorn-the-king is so done with Gigolas antics. He’s like, Guys. Please stop playing footsie under the table at my firstborn’s fifth birthday dinner. The kids love it, but still. Also, he wants Gimli to stop teasing Eomer wit the little Eomer-doll he had sent from Erebor. A teacup does not make an adequate helmet.

(I suspect Aragorn develops a gigolas-related Spidey-sense by that stage. His head will sometimes just snap up, his eyes wide and alert, seemingly for no reason.

Hi! So this is a veeery nitpicky question and I apologize in advance if I’m being pedantic. It’s about the khuzdul in Sansûkh. Pretty early in the story you have translated “nidoyith” as “young boy” and “nidoyîth” as “young boys”, so I took it as i or î making the difference. But then further on you nearly always use -îth in singular forms, like Gimizhîth, Thorinîth, Azaghîth , etc., but Fíli calls Frerin khuzdith once – long story short, is there a ‘right’ way to do it? Do you know the answer?

Yeah, the answer is ‘Dets Fucked Up’ :DDD

The old Neo-Khuzdul dictionary (it has since been superseded) had the -ith suffix to mean ‘that is young’ and ‘-îth’ to mean ‘that are young(plural)’. The example using ‘nidoy’ above? That’s the correct usage!

I just mixed them up on occasion, probably. Thank you for bringing it to my notice!
