Eeeee so thrilled you liked the way I took the canon sections and twisted them! The Frodo and Arwen meeting has always struck me as a bit too loose, so I pulled it tighter, and the Eomer-enters-as-King moment has always felt too pat. I mean, the guy was 3rd Marshall of the Riddermark – Theodred was the one groomed for the crown, not Eomer. So, I made it more about him going ‘WHOA THIS IS REALLY. REALLY OVERWHELMING.’ – and then the Gimli scene is his escape from that, heh! (ALSO GIMLI YOU SMOOTHIE. ‘My heart is given to the morning’ YOU SMOOTH SMOOTH BASTARD.)

YEP, THAT’S RIGHT. BOROMIR’S ‘WHITE TOWER OF ECTHELION’ SPEECH. I WENT THERE. I REFERENCED IT.

Also, he wants Gimli to stop teasing Eomer wit the little Eomer-doll he had sent from Erebor. A teacup does not make an adequate helmet.

Honestly if the fellowship had cellphones the #1 change would be Aragorn constantly complaining on the phone with arwen in the two towers like “they’re flirting again. Yes again. Literally I don’t even want to tell u what I walked in on yesterday but it involved gimli cleaning his axe in an inappropriate manner. And the worst bit is they still pretend like they hate each other my god. I’m gonna lose it I swear” while arwen is like “mhmm that’s nice dear”

How is Arwen the fairest elf anyway? do elves just hold mandatory beauty pageants every age where EVERY elf in middle earth has to show up? (the punishment for not showing up is a bad haircut, the most SEVER punishment imaginable) or is it just something Elrond calls her (proud papa) and every other race just took it literally instead of a elf-dad embarrassing his elf-daughter in front of all her friends
