Finally, the new Touya shoot is done!  Sorry for the long post- I’m terrible at narrowing down photos, but in my defense, when they’re this gorgeous, can you blame me? XD  It was a dream of mine to get to shoot this costume in the snow, and luckily, @houkakyou and I got the chance to do it after Katsucon this year.  She joked that we both ‘leveled up’ since last year, and I would definitely have to call that true XD I completely changed my makeup for him and I’m so much happier with it now, and I have no words for how amazing her photos are ❤

My Gimris wig is here and it is an insane hairpile omg xD Left is down, right is me holding it in a vague approximation of how it will actually by styled (really a sort of crown braid with the front parts braided into the beard xD)

Also posting my design sketch since its time to get off my ass and make it xD Influenced largely by the styles that ended up in the movie, though also some early concept art.

So excited to finally post these!  A friend of mine organized a big group Hobbit/LotR photoshoot in Rocks State Park, Maryland, and the scenery was just amazing.  I’m not allowed to post much of the group stuff yet because it’s being submitted to a magazine, but the fabulous @houkakyou and I did some individuals as well that I wanted to go ahead and share because I love them ❤  We got to go rock climbing in costume (and slightly almost died >.>), and I learned to smoke a pipe- which tastes highly unpleasant but was so worth it for the results. XD

So naturally, I had to Tolkien-ize at least one Christmas song this year. ;P This is effectively a retelling of the same story as Gimli’s Song of Durin from FotR, but I figured that most Christmas music is the same story retold lots of different ways anyway. ;P Binamrâd is the Khuzdul word for “deathless,” and given that it is listed as a noun and not an adjective, I took that to mean that it was a name. Might record later with harmonies if there’s time (I love the chords in this song a lot), but right now I have to run away and do family things. XD Happy holidays, everyone! ❤

his brother’s rage calmly until Nori had exhausted himself, and then
helped him back to his chair. Dori made pot of tea after pot of tea,
lips white and stiff, before carefully plaiting the drained and silent
Nori’s red-brown hair back into its elaborate braids. Then the Brothers
Ri held onto Nori’s hands tightly until he felt able to cry.

So I drew this a really super long time ago?  I think it was legitimately the first sketch I did in the fandom, over a year ago now.  I’ve kept trying to color or shade it and just hated it every time, so I figure it’s time to just post it and move on to arting other things. ;p This was one of my favorite moments of really early Sansûkh, and possibly my first case of Ri brothers feels (the first of so many XD). Presumably Dori is off making yet another pot of tea (since my paper was too small).  Also, I remembered that the leg was supposedly made by Bofur, so it has his sigil on it as a maker’s mark.

Avi, i love it also i am a monster, how dare i  ORI’S SCAR, the incredibly intricate detailling on their clothes, ahhh NORI’S EXPRESSION, his peg, oh NOri (I love that you remember about Bofur making the peg!!!) and mmmm *wibbles* It is beautiful and absolutely perfect, Avi you are AMAZING.

It’s the last night of Chanukah, and I swore I was going to record something whether my voice was back to 100% or not (spoiler: it’s not. stupid 2-3 week long illness). XD This has always been my favorite Chanukah song just because it’s so pretty, so I BS’d some harmonies and gave it a go.  Not entirely right, but I still like it well enough to post.  Hopefully I won’t sound like a dying squeak toy for the entire holiday next year so I can record more XD
