Try “Growing Dwarves (And Kingdoms)” by Lumelle. It’s a Bagginshield fic with Bilbo staying in Erebor, and there’s a lot of plot devoted to other characters. There’s also quite a few terrible Dwarves from the Iron Hills, but Dáin isn’t a bad guy and actively supports Thorin each time he shows up.

(one day, evil dwarves will come from someplace other than the Iron Hills – I can dream…)

Yes, there really, 110% WILL BE a happy ending for the Bagginshield. (I don’t jive with the whole Yavanna-made-Hobbits fanon, so Bilbo is headed for Mandos’ Halls as per Men and Hobbits, I’m afraid).

I am absolutely NOT going to reveal how. But it will be a happy ending, Thorin and Bilbo WILL be together, and there shall be many, many smooches. Cross my heart.

Thorin playing the harp in the halls not realizing Bilbo is listening to him secretly enjoying every moment of it. When Thorin realizes Bilbo was listening to him, he gets embarrassed, but Bilbo encourages him to play more. After all, Thorin willed Bilbo to sing for him and he obliged, why not have something in return?

I GOT A NEW TABLET! I think it shows, I changed Thorin’s tattoos a bit from my previous drawing and I like them a little more now. The mourning mark on Thorin’s back is for Hrera. THEY STILL BOTH LOOK SO SAD. The gigolas one is all cute, Bagginshield’s like ‘nope we’re being tragic up here’. I didn’t add excess tattoos on Thorin like I did with Gimli, mostly because Thorin has SO MANY mourning marks that I think tattoos have become very very important to him.

Thorin’s back ground is colorless because he often seems to describe being dead as the world losing it’s color. Bilbo’s is colored but sort of blank. I was trying to reflect where they are and how they’re separated. and then everybody gets a Gimlîn-zâram back ground. EVERBODY.
