So I did some character sheets for the fee&kee au !! I wanted to do the whole company/everyone ever in any tolkien book but this was taking forever and I really wanted to get back to actual story lines whoops sorry (names are in the captions in case you cant tell who is who)
The second round of auditions is live! The deadline this time around is May 1st 11:59PM EST. If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out this form first, then find the audition slides. The audition slides contain not only the lines to read for each character, but also more detailed instructions about how to format your files and where to submit them.
If you have any questions, check out our FAQ. If you still have questions, feel free to e-mail either of the mods. We’re happy to help!
Since our first round of auditions, a lot of folks have asked us for tips on auditioning. We’re not going to tell you how you should read, but here are some things to bear in mind if you’re thinking about trying out:
1. Be willing to be cast
This means that if you are auditioning for a character with a lot of lines, make sure that you can commit to meeting the deadlines the mods set for each chapter and to sticking it out for the duration of the fic. If you are cast, we also ask that you be gracious and considerate to your fellow cast members, to those who have not been cast, and to yourselves.
2. Be willing to not be cast
The worst part of working on this wonderful project for us as mods is the fact that we have so many talented people clamoring for parts and a limited number of roles that we are casting each time. We need to pick one person for each character. Casting is a difficult process, and when we cast someone, it’s not because those who were not cast are not gifted performers or that we did not like their voices.
As much as we try to emphasize this, we also understand that it is very disappointing to try out for something and not be cast. So if you are thinking of auditioning, you must be emotionally prepared to not be cast. More than anything, we want y’all to take care of yourselves.
3. Be sure to check the context of the audition slides
While we nicely provide the lines we will be asking you to read on the audition slides, you’ll definitely want to read (or re-read) the chapter in which they appear in the fic. Understanding the context in which the lines are uttered will help ground your performance. 🙂
Most of all, have fun. We are so excited to hear everyone, and we love you all. Good luck!
EVERYONE! ROUND TWO AUDITIONS!
If you’re as excited as I am (and want to try out!!!) read the above carefully, and don’t forget to check the FAQ at sansukhpodficfor more info!!
heuristicdevice and fuckthisimgoingtoerebor – THANK YOU. You are utterly wonderful, wonderful people. I can’t thank you enough for all your work, expertise, dedication and care.
And then Bilbo’s eyebrows shot up as Thorin Oakenshield, naked to his
waist and with the messiest hair that Bilbo had ever seen, sat up in
the pallet and wiped down his face. He yawned, and Bilbo could have
counted every tooth in his head. “Should have said something sooner,
foolish star of mine,” he mumbled in a rather gravelly, satisfied sort
of voice, still scratching at his stomach absently. He looked
tremendously pleased about something.
Oh, hells. Bilbo did not know where to put his face. Not this, not now, not him! Thorin
was swinging his legs out from under his blankets, still half-asleep,
and obviously getting ready to rise. Bilbo could feel his ears beginning
to burn, and he knew his whole face was red as a beet.
It all
came flooding back: standing in the sunlit glades of Rivendell and
staring at his own face, wizened nearly beyond recognition. Learning
that these little daydreams of his were rather more than just daydreams.
Finding out that ghosts, as improbable as that sounded, were much, much more than the superstitious fancies of frightened children and the credulous.
Discovering that this pompous regal intolerably rude fool had been stalking him for eighty years!
The moment Thorin noticed him was obvious, as he froze so thoroughly he might as well have been made of stone after all.
This took so much wooooooorrrrrrkkkkk *falls down dead* This might be the biggest project I’ve done. If you look closely through Bilbo you can see Thorin’s reflection in the brass mirror! My primroses and honeysuckle look terrible so I bight rework those someday. but for now I call it quits! Also apparently every Sansukh piece gets pretty star frames. Yes. good. (in defense of Thorin’s awkward pose. His slightly awkward pose was always intentional I was trying to make it look like he was freezing in place)
It is fabulous! I love it, oh my GOD lacefedora! Thank you so much *drools over those tattoos* UNF. And Bilbo’s expression! HAHAHAHAHA oh wow those walls! And the detail, my god, the mirror even! (thorin he’s going to notice the flowers on everything eventually and THEN YOU ARE IN FOR IT MY LAD) and the reflection and WHOA.
Aghh so much angst!!! One day I will draw something happy from Sansûkh but today obviously isn’t the day
OHHHH GOOD GRAVY
it is gorgeous! SO GORGEOUS AHHHHH i love them, their faces, Thorin’s sadness, Bilbo’s worry, the detail on the headboard, the warm rich colours, the shadow, the intimacy of it even without a single touch, I just sdjfhlsgfksjakfdhaljha i love it, i love it SO MUCH. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
He wasn’t paying proper attention as he sat on the bench that had become his over the last fifteen years in Mahal’s Halls and entered the pool of Gimlin-Zaram, otherwise he may have avoided making his face turn completely red.
(Thorin appears to a sight he wasn’t expecting)
NEXT IN THE DURINS FALLING OVER SERIES determamfidd
And when Beorn said ‘little Bunny’, every Dwarven head whipped around to stare at him bc a) is he speaking khuzdul wtf, and b) Thorin is gonna kick. His. Arse.
