Aww! I think that both Gloin and Dori would wear glasses nowadays. Dori’s are absolutely lovely.

(Gloin really should wear his more often, but he doesn’t like them and won’t wear them outside the house. Mizim is always chasing him whilst waving a pair of glasses in the air.)

Balinith wears his proudly: they were made by Bofur and Gimris, just for him.

Bani also wears glasses (and Baris finds them absurdly sexy).

Headcanon – some/all of Dwalin and Orla’s kids (when older) style their hair in dreadlocked mohawks, in a really cool braided crest thing-y. Because it looks badass, gets the hair out of the way, and honors both sides of their heritage (hairitage?),

Balinith has a longstanding issue with squares (the formal finger-food snacks) because most people cut them into rectangles yet continue to call them squares. This is especially notable since all squares are rectangles – but not all rectangles are squares!

Somewhere in the background Wee Thorin is planning the biggest pie heist in the history of Erebor. Feat. Balinith because Balinith respects pie. Pie is not only delicious and nutritious, but shares its name and demonstrates an important mathematical concept.

I’m imagining Balinith’s glasses having something like Inspector Gadget’s where he can just flip down a piece and have a magnifier glass go over one (or both) of the lenses. Because science.

That glasses thing made me wonder: Does anyone in Sansukh have the glasses with the string on the back? (cough cough Dori. Or Hrera who has a super-classy monocle thingy before she died b/c she denied being longsighted).

I know Wee Thorin is in his 40s, but how old are Dwalin and Orla’s other two children?
