I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS, I really hope you like him Pop. (And I covered his ears back up hehehe. That headcanon was too cute not to.)

imagine Dain putting a friendly and comforting hand on Bilbo’s shoulder during the Durins’ funeral because he did eventually realize how much Thorin meant to Bilbo and how much Bilbo meant to Thorin
Here’s that POC Bilbo sketch I did a day or two ago with color.
Tbh I don’t really like it. But it’s a good start I suppose? Also that color scheme makes him look like a fantasy – age Bob Marley fan. Which isn’t bad…just not what I was going for.
Ehhhhhh.

It never ceases to amaze me, the courage of Hobbits.
I learned that he had never married. I thought that odd though I guessed why it was and the reason that I guessed was not that most of the Hobbits gave me – that he had early been left very well off and his own master. No, I guessed that he wanted to remain ‘unattached’ for some reason deep down which he did not understand himself – or would not acknowledge, for it alarmed him.
‘I beg of you,’ said Bilbo stammering and standing on one foot, ‘to accept this gift!’ and he brought out a necklace of silver and pearls that Dain had given him at their parting.
The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien
Dain Ironfoot does NOT distrust or hate Bilbo Baggins. In fact, he gave Bilbo a valuable gift. This is not the action of someone who is ungrateful, suspicious or distrustful.
