i know this is almost def not gonna happen in sansukh, but i love the idea of the feanorian tauriel discussion being an actual thing; like she’s looking for the dwarves, so who better to ask than famous dwarf-friend celebrimbor? so there’s a ginger elf wandering around asking after celebrimbor, and when the feanorians hear about this (or at least the noldor royal family, who didn’t kill that many other elves and were probs reembodied) they naturally think tauriel is celebrimbor’s secret child–

–and are super excited to meet a new relative (this one didn’t even kill any other elves!). celebrimbor is very very confused. the noldor are very welcoming to tauriel, and really interested in getting to know her. tauriel is completely oblivious, and thinks the noldor are just weirdly helpful.

Nonnie, yes you are right – that is not happening in Sansukh, sorry for disappointment… but why the heck does that mean it won’t exist?? Go write it! This is a great premise and I love the idea and I would read the heck out of it! GO WRITE YOUR IDEA INTO THE WORLD, MAKE IT INTO A THING! Love it and name it and dive, dive, dive into it!!

christmashippo:

because nothing makes me want to draw Narvi like listening to Blind Guardian, have some reunion between her and Khelebrimbur

It’s supposed to be after the Dagor Dagorath so they’re really waaaayyy too clean and tidy, but I couldn’t be arsed since it’s just flat colours. If I shade it I might add some dirt and gore

@determamfidd, what do you think?

There are some very simple rules in the Halls that one should really abide by.

THIS

IS FUCKING

HILARIOUS

oh boy, Droy, you utter fuckwit. Seriously, he doesn’t learn, does he?? DO NOT INSULT KHEL IN FRONT OF NARVI. DO. NOT. you’d think he’d have learned better not to be an insulting little turd after the first time..!

and the concept is FANTASTIC oh my god, there needs to be a list of Rules for the Halls. We have 6 now, thanks to your incredible imagination – these are total solid ithildin-plated brilliance! Thank you, thank you SO SO MUCH!!!

1) Don’t bother questioning where things came from. It was never going to get an answer.

2) Don’t fawn over Durin unless one wanted to get a solid headbutt.

3) Try not to bring up any large scale massacres in conversation if it was at all avoidable. Someone nearby was surely to have died in one of them and not all were well adjusted to this fact.

4) Mahal really shouldn’t be disturbed unless it was important. (Note that this rule was willfully ignored quite often by certain Dwarves who were looking to get something. Luckily, Mahal was so understanding.)

5) Holding grudges for things that happened in life was probably ineffectual so should be dropped… eventually.

aaaaand the 6th Rule? :DDD YOU GOTTA GO READ THIS. IT IS AWESOME!!

“I’ve seen good, innocent, true-hearted people hardened by the world,” Narvi said, and her eyes were dark and glittered strangely. “I’ve seen naivety punished and gentleness broken. It’s not a new tale.”

There’s not a single one of us,“ Haban said quietly, “who can even come close to hating Sauron as much as Narvi does.”

OH MY GODDDD

I AM SCREAMING OH MY GOD OH MY GODDOODDGDKGDHD

*careens over at the speed of sound to read it*

You know, it just occurred to me that Gimli and Celebrimbor actually have a lot in common. They’re both jewellers, both in awe of Galadriel, both were key players in forging friendships between dwarves and elves, both are painfully loyal, both have a family curse to deal with, and I dunno why but I always pictured Celebrimbor as red-headed. I bet they’d get on like house on fire if they ever had a chance to meet. (Sansukh thought: Do you think sometimes Gimli reminds Narvi of Celebrimbor?)

I NEVER MET AN ANGSTY PARALLEL I DIDN’T LIKE

alkjsdhflkashdfal yes, yes, absolutely! (although I am so sorry to be That Person, but Celebrimbor is mentioned to be dark-haired IT COULD BE DARK AUBURN THOUGH idk, I am sorry to mention that)

Narvi thinks, now and then, in that strange what-if way: Brim and Gimli would be like those brand-new-but-instant friends you meet at parties now and then, the kind who always seem to know the same jokes and so tell them simultaneously in really loud voices.

(She watched Gimli as he built the Doors of Aglarond: all the arguing and hmming over plans, the frowning and pacing, the chewing of the lip, the sudden joyous bursts of inspiration.

It was like watching a memory.)

lintamande:

My favorite Celebrimbor headcanon is that he was, in fact, suspicious of Annatar. He noticed the things that didn’t make sense, he was very conscious that he was being directed in a particular direction, he often picked up on parts of Annatar’s story that felt off…

But he knows that Fëanor was famous for being too suspicious to collaborate with anyone, for distrusting everyone who tried to correct him, for working alone and never taking advice or direction, and so Celebrimbor distrusts all his own instincts, he’s internalized very very deeply that his intuitions are Fëanorian and suspect and evil and that the right thing to do is overriding them.

And he’s wrong.
