(cradlesong anon) so this major-key broadbeam cradlesong is becoming, conceptually, what bomfris sings to disith and durin to get them to sleep, so i’m probably going to change some stuff around if thats ok? i just have this image of bomfris rocking two cribs at once and singing them to sleep, and thorin (stonehelm) comes in in the middle and starts humming along, and it’s just very peaceful and quiet and full of love. not super harmonically complex, but just very warm.

(cradlesong anon) pt 2 im changing the lyrics a bit, so it’s for two treasures, and im gonna use your alto line but an octave or two down for thorin. bomfris’ line is gonna stay the same. im just feeling things about bomfris and thorin and little disith and durin and how loved they all are, idk. would that be ok, to change it like that?

For the sheet music available for the Cradle Song and The Iron Hills for Me, do you think they could be played on a guitar? (I’m getting one for Christmas and wanted to be able to try to play them, once I’ve learned simpler songs).

Ooooh, I honestly do not know. I can’t play guitar! (Violin, voice and atrocious atrocious piano, that’s me)

I can write out the chords for them, if that helps though? I seriously haven’t any idea if these chords are easy ones, or if every guitarist here is glaring at me with the words ‘PLS TRANSPOSE’ glowing in their eyes Guitarists, I would love your feedback and input here!

Look I finally read determamfidd‘s Sansûkh this week and have been having ALL the feelings and ideas and just *flail* I want to make many many things in this universe, and as determamfidd has so kindly provided us with the sheet music for this song, I unearthed my flute from the mess that is the living room and attempted the thing. I’m fairly pleased with it, despite some issues with the recording, and how clearly you can hear how I never mastered making an actually clear, non-breathy sound, but hey.

(I’ll probably be doing a few more of these. I’m having fun, and I have Ideas. I keep inventing & then immediately forgetting melodies for the songs, and maybe for once I’ll actually have my mic at hand when I’m humming to myself.)

Also, the cover is just something quick I threw together ages ago & you’re welcome to use it with credit if you want to.

I present to you: The Cradle Song, from Sansukh, by determamfidd. This has been a labor of love for me, as well as technically the first thing I have recorded in character as Baris. I did have to make one small alteration to the music as Dets wrote it; the lowest part has been changed from voice to cello, since I cannot sing that low.
