Do you think twins – such as Elladan and Elrohir – would have the same daemon? Or would they be polar opposites?

Hey Nonnie! I am really happy that people are enjoying my ideas on this! 

ooooh, um so bear in mind that I am not a twin. 

From what I understand of daemons, they are an animal personification of a person’s soul, yeah? And even if you are genetically identical to someone else, you are not the same person. You don’t have the same soul. 

So nah, I don’t think twins would have the same daemons. Some twins might have similar daemons? But not the same.

Dunno about polar opposites either… depends on the pair of twins in question! In Elladan and Elrohir’s case, they do have many similarities, and so the manifestations of their souls would have some things in common. Here’s my idea for them. I’ve given them both seabirds, though there are some interesting differences as well as similarities. Size, for one!

Elladan – 

Arctic Tern (long-lived, naturally protected from parasites and predators, incredibly long-distance migrator for years at a time, FANTASTICALLY protective of nest and young, to the point of aggression)

Elrohir – Great Shearwater (possibly the longest-lived bird in the world, AMAZING eyesight, long migrator, echoing night-calls, ‘shearing’ flight pattern like a knife carving through the air, can dive down from above quite far into the ocean, RIDIC BRAVE)

after seeing all the posts about daemon headcanons, I am so tempted to write a fic about it (like very tempted, I spent all day yesterday daydreaming about what to write) but I think the only think stopping me is that I don’t think I’ll be good enough?

I’ve gotta ask after seeing all your other posts about daemon headcanons: do you have any ideas for the elves? Like Thranduil? Is his giant elk his daemon? Arwen? Elrond? Celebrimbor? Galadriel? Celeborn? (and basically anyone and everyone you have ideas for?)

OOOOH my first reaction was to agree that yeah, Thranduil’s daemon would be his Elk… but it keeps popping into my mind that perhaps he is one of those rare people whose daemon takes humanoid form? And then a notion struck me that perhaps… Galion…?

Galadriel – a jewelled dragonfly, iridescent as white opal

Arwen – white-naped crane

Elrond – emerald tree boa

Celebrimbor – CROW CROW CROW CROW CROW SMARTEST OF BURDS

Celeborn – Crested goshawk

Glorfindel – PEACOCK HEHEHEH

Haldir – Ocellated lizard

Luthien Tinuviel – Luna Moth

Beren – GOLDEN EAGLE 😀

Elu Thingol – cougar

Feanor – Silvery gibbon (he gets a PRIMATE, goddamn genius that he was… but one that is hella territorial and defensive)

Gollum – naked mole rat

Denethor – chameleon

Saruman – Ladybird Mimic Spider

Radagast – HEDGEHOG

Do you have any daemon headcanons for the older Durin extended family? Like, some of Fris and Thrain’s generation? Thror? Also. Fundin and Groin’s daemon’s get into noisy arguments. (It’s a running joke that Fundin and Dweris both have owls – spectacled and great horned respectively)

I know that you’ve talked about your ideas for daemon aus for the Company/fellowship, but do you have ideas for your oc’s and/or some of the other or minor characters in the hobbit/lotr? Like, Hrera might have a nice tastefully-coloured parrot. Very pretty, very smart, very people-oriented.

Um, it will not surprise anyone to discover that Baris’ daemon would totally be a lyrebird.

Hrera with a parrot is PERFECT, oh my sldjhgfsjh. The parrot would preen everyone in sight. It would also be quite noisy… and a flock parrot too, so perhaps a rainbow lorikeet? We have thousands of them around here, they’re beautiful… and BOSSY.

Lessee. Jeri? Would probably have a pony for a daemon, tbh. I’d say horse, but that’s WAY too large for a Dwarf!

Barur – Brown bear. Omnivorous, protective, big and clever? BEAR.
