Your Hamilton/Hobbit crossover is my favorite thing in the world right now! I just want to make a request for a version of “Wait For It” as sung by Bilbo or “Satisfied” with Bilbo/Thorin or both. (I don’t know if you are taking requests but I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask!!!!)

Oh my goodness, Nonnie – Sure thing! I hope you like, this was a bit on the tricky side but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out!:)

[BILBO]
Writing out the story in the Red Book every day
I’m keeping the lamp lit while your light is away
He’s on the other side of twilight,
He tried to take back what was his,
But now the nights are growing darker,
and it is what it is.

Love doesn’t discriminate
Between the sinners
And the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep loving anyway
We laugh and we cry
And we break
And we make our mistakes
And if there’s a reason beyond my pride
That I stayed by his side
Then I’m willing to wait for it
I’m willing to wait for it

My grandfather was a Thain and a great tactician
But there are things of which the Shire has no suspicion
My mother loved adventure
My father commanded respect
When they died they left no instructions
Just a legacy to protect

[BILBO/DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]

Death doesn’t discriminate
Between the sinners
And the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep living anyway
We rise and we fall
And we break
And we make our mistakes
And if there’s a reason I’m still alive
When everyone who loves me has died
I’m willing to wait for it
I’m willing to wait for it

[DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY ]
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it

[BILBO]
Nothing is left in my life I can control

[DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it

[BILBO]
I am disreputable,
I am now a fairy tale

[DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it

[BILBO]
Always falling behind or there too late

[DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it
Wait for it

[BILBO]
Now all I have left is to grow old and wait

[DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
Wait
Wait
Wait

[BILBO]
Frodo faces an endless uphill climb

[ DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
Climb
Climb
Climb

[BILBO]
He has to save us all
He is so very small

[ DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY ]
Small
Small
Small
Small

[BILBO]
The Enemy’s pace is relentless
He wastes no time

[ DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY ]
Time
Time
Time

[BILBO]
Still Frodo answers the call.

The Ring doesn’t hesitate
It exhibits no restraint
It takes and it takes and it takes
And it will exploit any way
It eats you alive from inside
and it gnaws and it breaks
And if there’s a reason
It came to me when none could foresee, then damn it all —

[BILBO/DEAD DWARF PEANUT GALLERY]
I’m willing to wait for it
I’m willing to wait for it…

Life doesn’t discriminate
Between the sinners and the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep living anyway
We rise and we fall and we break
And we make our mistakes

And if there’s a reason I’m still alive
When so many have died
Then I’m willin’ to—

[BILBO]
Wait for it…

Wait for it…

[THORIN]

I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory.

Is this where it gets me? On my feet, bloodied steel inside of me?

I feel it coming, do I run or use my sword or let it be?

…There is no beat, no melody.

Bilbo…my friend that I made my enemy…

If I throw away my shot, is this how you remember me?

Maybe this wound is my legacy

Legacy

What is a legacy?

It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.

I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me.

Erebor! You great unfinished symphony, you sent for me!

You let me make a difference! A place where even exiled princes

Can leave their fingerprints and

Rise up! I’m running out of time, I’m running and my time’s up!

Wise up! Eyes u-

…I catch a glimpse of the other side.

Fili is leading our kin in song on the other side,

My brother’s on the other side!

He’s with our mother on the other side, Grandfather’s watching from the other side!

Team me how to say goodbye, rise up, rise up, rise up

Namadith!

Oh sister, take your time…

I’ll see you on the other side.

Far away¸ the Misty Mountain calls…

[BILBO]

Thorin, look at the eagles in the sky, wait!

(….I AM SO SORRY)

Dear Dets, do you ever think about what Bilbo’s experience might have been if he’d actually reached the Lonely Mountain after his disappearance from his birthday party?

Oooooh.

It would have been hard for him. Not just the journey (he’s a VERY elderly hobbit, after all) but.

Looking at certain places, certain areas in the Mountain. Of course, many things would have been VASTLY different, all that time… but different enough not to prick and prod at those memories? I don’t know…

Still, he would have been delighted to see and spend time with his old friends, all together at last.

There would have been some… very obvious vacancies.

(Silence is sucked into those gaps around the table, sinking heavier into the pauses where another is expected to take up the tale, or to shout their indignation… but they’re not there. They’re not there, and there’s a gap, a breath, and the silence sinks into it a little deeper every time.)

Imagine, all of them spending time together, and then maybe one of the Dwarves mentions something, or perhaps Bilbo begins a particular story… only for the words to trip and stutter to a halt upon a particular name. Balin. Oin. Ori. Fili. Kili.

Tho-

Are you all right, lad? You’ve gone quite pale.

You’re one to talk, your beard’s turned whiter than my hair. And I’m perfectly all right. Just a momentary catch in the throat.

*mad cackling*

Thorin kills Azog the Defiler, but at the cost of his life. His nephews mourn, as Fili, blinded in one eye from his brush with death on Ravenhill, is crowned King Under the Mountain. He will see Erebor restored, and while some grumble at his freeness with the wealth of the mountain in aiding others, none will ever say that he might fall to gold sickness. Erebor will know peace, under him.

Meanwhile, Bard the Bowman heroically have his life fighting to save the people of Laketown, now Dale. Queen Sigrid is crowned, the eldest heir of Girion, and the daughter of the Dragonslayer. She is firm, and crafty, and any who doubt her soon gain a strong respect for her caring heart and quick mind. She is grieving for her father, and trying her best to raise her siblings after tragedy; but she is strong.

The Elvenking fought like a hurricane, but was overwhelmed by a swarm of orcs as he was thrown from his mount. His body was found hours after the battle, in a circle of mutilated orcs. His son, who has never been the type for politics, puts aside his joy in patrolling with the guard and takes up his father’s crown. Legolas Thranduilion is perhaps not the best of kings, but he is kind, well-liked, and will not lead his people astray

YOU ASKED FOR THIS

Dets’ reaction: I DID, I DID ASK FOR THIS

augh yessss THE DELICIOUS DEVASTATION

I didn’t know it was your birthday. Happy birthday! Also, probably a bad time, but I had a sad HC to share. Nori, the first time after he died and Ori left for Moria, watching Dori trying to do his hair in his usual elaborate braids. Seeing him opening his mouth to call for one of his brothers, since he and Dori had helped each other since they were both old enough to braid. Sees the pause when Dori remembers that he’s all alone and watches him settle for a simpler style until he can practice.

AUGH *eats up the lovely, lovely angst alongside her cake* I LOVE ITTTT

(okay but Dis with Angelica’s part in The Reynolds Pamphlet and facing Thorin’s grave while raw with grief and fury)

[DIS]

I knew my children like I know my mind…

You could never find Dwarves so devoted and so blind!

I loved my children more than anything in this life!

And I chose their happiness over mine every time!

Put what we had aside!

Damn this Mountain and our pride!

You could never be satisfied!

Thorin, are you satisfied?!

Thror watching Azanulbizar from the Halls (I think you once mentioned that Azanulbizar followed books canon and happened bc of Thror’s death?), unable to do anything. Watching his grandson die and his son descend into madness after being captured. Knowing it was al because he went and got himself killed on a suicide mission.

so this is exactly what happened in Sansukh hey

This has been the Angst Bulletin, thank you for watching
