Are nori, frerin and fili ever gonna meet their One? Love your fic btw

Hey Nonnie! Glad you like the story!

A note on the whole ‘Ones’ thing: no soulmates in Sansukh, sorry. I dislike the whole ‘predestination’ thing… I like free will. I also believe that it isn’t one person alone that could be ‘made for you’… you could be happy with any number of different people, but you have to choose them, choose it, and work at it, every day. A personal bias thingy there.

Nori explicitly tells us in the story that he and Dori are both aro-ace… well, actually, he specifies that Dori is aro-ace, and that he himself is definitely aro… perhaps not ace! But he ain’t telling. A Dwarf needs a few secrets, and Nori likes to keep folks guessing.

Fili’s storyline in this fic is not about romance, and I will not create one for him… his story arc is about stepping up to leadership in his own right.

(I hope you note that Nori was first calling Thorin ‘boss’… but now? Now he calls FILI ‘boss’. Also, Fili has developed a nearly pathological protective streak for Frodo a mile wide. He is becoming a leader and a protector in ways that have nothing to do with his bloodline and heritage. GO FILI, GO FILI, GOLDEN HEART MY SON, YOU LITTLE BEAUTY)

Frerin has the crush to end all crushes on both Eowyn AND Faramir. But also recall, he still has the body and emotional responses of a mid-teen. Poor boy has the intellect of a much, much older Dwarf, but it’s crammed into a tiny body with a truckload of hormones. I don’t think we will see him in actual, reciprocal romantic love in this state.

(but hey, we have good evidence that he is at the very least bisexual, and that he is hella poly.)

Mrs. Dets, can you tell us if Thira is alright?? After what happened at Dain’s grave I wanted nothing more than to hug her and I hope that her son, Mizim or Dis did exactly that ;-;

Hi there Nonnie!

She’s staying with Dis, at the moment. She’s okay. She isn’t coming out a lot, after what happened. Her son and Bomfris come over each morning for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Mizim has been cooking for them both.

Genild and Beri have also been keeping an eye on her – Genild has known her a long time, from the Iron Hills. Now and then Dori drops by when his busy schedule allows.

She will be all right – she’s iron all through, our Thira – but she’s had a very rough few months.

Hi! I have a kind of random question, if that’s okay? Does Laindawar make any friends in Erebor? Laerophen made a ton of dwarfling friends (and probably endeared himself a bit to their families by now), but does Laindawar ever make any friends in the mountain? Also, other random question: how do the remains of the company (minus Gloin who was very…vocal) feel about Gimli and Legolas, or just Thranduil being in the mountain for awhile?

Hey Nonnie!

Well, we’ll have to wait and see if the cactus Elf manages to un-prickle a bit!

the answer is yes, but it is a sort of unexpected person he befriends

Ooooh, okay – well, there have been 300 Elves in the Mountain for months, so the vast vast majority of Dwarves are very used to their company now, and are appreciative of their help. Thranduil himself is riding a big wave of public approval for bringing food when they were so desperate. That said, here’s how the remaining company members feel about Thranduil himself being in the Mountain.

  • Gloin = FUCK YOU WITH A PITCHFORK YOU ASSHOLE
  • Dwalin = One wrong move… just one wrong move… my axe is ready… just say somethin’ about barrels… just one little word…
  • Dori = MORE work? Really? More bloody work? More guests to take care of, feed and house and organise??? A ROYAL guest, no less! Can I rest??? CAN I LIVE
  • Bofur = *eating popcorn and watching with a certain sense of satisfaction and glee*

Aaaaaand here’s how they feel about Gimli and Legolas:

  • Gloin = APOPLECTIC FURY / WORRY / SADNESS / MORE WORRY / FEAR / DOUBT / WORRY WORRY WORRY WORRYYYYY
  • Dwalin = … what the actual fuck, Gimli. He’s lost his mind. Too much sun. Been dropped on his head again.
  • Dori = ew.
  • Bofur = *laughing hysterically, popcorn spilling everywhere*

Dori is totally the reason that all the kids call all royalty “mister king” or “mistress queen” or even “honoured sov’rin”. Dori is all “mister ironfoot” and mister Stonehelm and all the kids picked it up. This also extends to foreign royalty? Gimizh keeps calling Thranduil “mister elf-king” and Everyone’s trying to not to look at Thranduil. Also Aragorn is mister king man.

I am imagining Aragorn’s face at being called ‘Mister King Man’ and trying not to cry with laughter.

He would be so wtffffff gimli why what the actual heck is this name now why are the small Dwarves calling me this weird thing

Gimli would likely shrug a bit and say, well you won’t notice another name, considering how many you’ve already got, will you Laddie?

HEADCANONPALOOZA PART THE …SOMETHINGTH. i dunno, I have lost track!!!

(if you’re wondering wtf is this, basically these are sansukh headcanons people have recently sent me, that I haven’t been able to address over the past few days – sorryyyyy sorry sorry!)

<333 Thank you, thank you, I am particularly fond of the baby-box one and the Oin one 🙂

re: Gimizh and Gimris fashion shows: Gimiris won’t clean any of Gimli’s damn clothes. She raised Gimizh, and is *out of patience* for these shenanigans. Bofur literally cannot stop laughing, at least, when he’s not telling his son how fine he looks in his new clothes, and perhaps we can get Dori to take them in for you a bit, huh? They all agree on handsignals to make sure the coast is clear of *shudder* those damn Elves who don’t stop asking questions.

LMAAAAO OH GOSH HAHAHAHA

When he gets back, Gimli is like… but wait, this shirt was too big before I left…

Gimris: *innocent shrug*

Laerophen is so ??? about how his Dwarf clothes work? Like, all these buttons? Toggles? Unknown fasteners???? The first few times he tries to put them on, it doesn’t work – there are weird bulges and tight spots and unfastened bitsies. Merillin tries to help, to no avail. Eventually Dori has to give him a tutorial. Dori did not need to see so much nearly-nekkid elf.

Oh god poor poor Dori. Poor Merilin. Poor LAEROPHEN. He is much too Awkwardtm for this… THISNESS.
