AWWWWW ❤ YES. THIS IS 10000% TRUE.

There are enough dwarflings in Erebor that, when Dwalin goes to pick up his kids from school/daycare, he is mobbed by small children looking for sweets and stories. Somehow his pockets are full whenever it is his turn for pickups.
Awwwww ❤ That’s absolutely adorable, Nonnie!
I am now having massive Sansukh Dwalin feels. He’s on king #5 and everything is sad.
OHHHHH NO THAT IS SO SAD.
God, poor Dwalin.
so Kili anf Fili both play the fiddle right. how agressive do you think their playing gets? like I was watching Nuttin’ but Stringz on youtube and they get so into it and completely shred their bowstrings and I think Kili and Fili would play like that (probs not the style of music tho, something more dwarvish) and they keep breaking the strings or their bows and Dis getting annoyed cause “You just replaced the strings last week Kili what do you mean its broken???”
They would be surreptitiously cutting the tails of every pony in order to re-hair their bows, hell yes. Epic fiddle battles. and if the victory is in doubt, as a last resort the fiddle can also be used as a bludgeon
Also, Balin and Dwalin are meant to play the viol?
Some dwarf cuddles from determamfidd‘s Sansûkh-verse.
I read a hugging headcanon that described Ori as “your personal koala” and I am pretty sure that is 100% accurate. Except here he’s just Bifur’s personal koala, so back off.
You know things are getting serious with Bofur and Gimris cos Bofur’s not got his hat on. Bom-chikka-wow. (I enjoyed drawing Gimris’s hair).
Even Badass Warriors get tired, especially when they have a newborn baby. Would Orla and Dwalin own cushions? I have no idea.
Still not really settled on a mental image for Orla sorry Orla.
if you heard a minor explosion somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere – yeaaaaah, that was me.
I LOVE THEM I LOVE YOU
Oh my GOSHHHSHHH how adorable are Bifur and Ori, just so warm and comfortable and YES Ori the Koala, and Bofur and Gimris YOU LOVELY DORKS ohhhh they look so happy, they just laugh all the time, and lajshdflajshfdlaj Dwalin and Orla i know that feel, catching a snuggle while the baby is FINALLY sleeping and OH
CHESS I AM IN AWE THANK YOU THANK YOU
Maybe Dwalin spends several years after BOTFA just -not dancing- because there are too many sad associations with Thorin, Fili, & Kili. But he does dance a bit with Orla – mostly quiet ones (by dwarf standards). And he’ll occasionally let his kids drag him into a faster one. Though couple’s/group dancing is a Big Thing for dwarves.
*falls over and wibbles a bit*
I bet Dwalin and Orla make people a bit apprehensive at first when they go out onto the square – and then they’re so gentle and quiet with each other, it’d be a bit off-putting, hee.
(GIMIZH TRYING HIS DANGEST TO DO THE SPINNING KICKS AND FALLING OVER THO)
d’you think Thorin is a good dancer? I mean as a prince he might’ve been taught a bit before the dragon but I’d imagine he might not really dance much in the years afterwards. I kinda bet Frerin would like dancing, or at least the quick and cheerful hobbit kind of dancing (I kinda imagine him just having the time of his life with it and it makes my heart ache a bit)
OKAY so I have ideas about Dwarven dancing!
I think Dwarves would make dancing into a virtuoso display of incredible endurance, strength, showmanship and control. I don’t think Dwarven dancing is staid or courtly at all.
I think Thorin would have been very very good at the slow, controlled type of dance, full of dragging kicks and slow stamping – the ones that need thigh muscles of freakin granite. I think he would have made a point of competition with Dwalin to last longer than him (and the loser has to buy the drinks).
I think Gloin would have been the best at the spinning dances. Firebeards do spinning REALLY well – bc axe-dancing! (reminder that in Sansukh Haban, Gloin and Oin’s mum, is a famous axe-dancer)
I think Frerin would have been gifted at the fast dances. Light and fast and speedy with lots of stamping and fast footwork, hells to the yeah! (Fili would also have been good at these, imo).
I would like to imagine that the Iron Hills specialise in spectacular jumps 🙂
DANCING.
I’ve answered a similar thing before – but bc I LOVE these and they need to be seen by everyone who loves Dwarves, check out these Ukrainian dances. They are similar to how I envision Dwarven dancing.
Seeeeeriously. Check these out (start the first one at about 2:00 mins in):
DEM THIGHS.
DEM BUNS.
My new fanart – Dwalin with cookies))
He’ll fight you for those! Someone send this to Graham!
Adorkable! determamfidd lookit!
MY HAIRY DORK BABY
$2 says that there is a word or phrase somehow in Khuzdul for ‘exellent preparer of cookies’. Barus gets called this. Dwalin also uses this for Bilbo.
AWWWWW. Barur and Bilbo, excellent cookie-smiths! I love it.
Ohboy. I dun wanna, I’m not working it out, seriously, someone else do it. I looked it up, though – we have,

idk if this counts as MunDáin but when everyone was little and everything was perfect Náin visited Erebor and brought young Dáin along. Dwalin was just a itty bitty (tall for his age) toddler and he sat around the entire visit, staring at Dáin with his dyed hair and his cool braids and tattoos and everything. Later when they left he announced that he wants to be just like his cousin Dáin. Thorin overheard and was in pain over that early betray (HE wanted to be the cool cousin)
NNNNGH
And from that day on, Dwalin styled his hair in a mohawk. Yes.
😀
