I was trying to a comic for thier fic The Long Road but then I made myself sad so I drew these two cuties fighting back to back. (the comic did get started tho, so I’ll probably finish it sometime). I had such a blast designing Dwalin’s hammer, even though I didn’t get to draw all of it. One side shows Erebor, the other the crown and stars of Durin, and the small sides have the runes for D and O, like on Orla’s axe. Maybe i’ll post some of my sketches for his hammer sometime because that was such fun!

Their faaaaces! (ORLA’S SHAVED HEAD-SIDES, HER NOSERING YESSS OMG) and the tattoos, wow!!! I am in awe of the designs for Orla’s clothes, seriously – that is BRILLIANT, I love them so so much! And her LONG AXE EEEEEEEEE

*pats the Nonnie* He is indeed a very good daddy. He loves his madcap little troupe of children, ohhh so much.
(He has begrudgingly accepted Gimizh’s inescapable presence amongst them. And he thinks that protective, loyal and put-upon Wee Thorin is far, far too much like himself sometimes.)
Dwalin as King Under the Mountain, good gravy. I think he would do his best… and i think he would have hated it a lot, Dwalin has always been so loyal to others, he is a perfect second-in-command but not a leader…
I can just imagine the shade of Balin nearly in tears at his little brother’s attempts at ‘diplomacy’. I mean, even Thorin, Mr “ishkh khakfe andu null!” himself, has more tact. Under Dwalin’s rule I expect that the relations between the Mountain and the Wood would rapidly deteriorate!
Thorin would have a great deal of quiet fun, I think, as he completely confounds them with his remarkable about-face towards Elves and vengeance and the like! It’s not often that one gets to astonish Dis, after all. And Dwalin’s gobsmacked face is hilarious.
