The lady Dis from chapter 34 of Sansûkh by determamfidd
So I read this entire freaking amazing fic in about two days and HAD to do art for it. If ya’ll haven’t read it already, go read it!
Oh my goodness what an amazing gift to return to after my holiday!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! She is stunning, that armour (GAH THE LEG AHHH) and the dress and her faaaace (YES, OLD AND COLD AND ACHING DIS, YESSSSS, GRIEVING ANEW EVEN AS SHE FIGHTS *cries for roughly 900 years about Dis*) her hair and beard! THAT SWORD *grabby hands* INCREDIBLE you have such amazing skill! I am floored and amazed and so touched and SO GRATEFUL, thank you thank you thank you!!!
She commissioned me to draw her as a Dwarfling (or a young Dwarrowdam if you will), so I done did it.
Some details: she has some lovely raven wing earrings (as requested by Nina herself). She also has two piercings–both influenced by the awesome headcanons of the lovely determamfidd. The one below her bottom lip is a Singer’s Stud, and denotes a celebrated singer. The octagonal one above her top lip denotes a celebrated musician (I’m told Nina is a pretty good harp player. Cool, right?)
Last but not least, she also asked me to come up with a Dwarven Dark-Name for her. I decided on:
I’mêgmanûl (’Singing Skies’)
I don’t know you all that well, Nina, but from the time I have I’ve seen that you’re one talented kid. Passionate about what you love, and not afraid to show it either. I chose Singing Skies 1)Because it sounds cool, 2)Because you’re a helluva good singer and 3)Because the sky can seemingly go on forever, and that’s how I feel about your potential: limitless, as long as you keep going for stuff that makes you happy.
She asked me to draw her as a Dwarrowdam *jazz hands* And try did I,
(I would like to point out the two piercings on her face. The lip ring–denoting a singer–is the headcanon of determamfidd. Her headcanons are and she’s even cooler. The septril piercing above that denotes an artist. Annnd now you know!)
Lace also asked me to come up with a Dark-name for her. After much deliberation and hair-pulling, I decided upon:
Rathkhukhazâd (“Hand of the Dwarves”)
Now to explain. For one, I love your art. Not just for the look itself, but for the fact that you work on it so constantly. Not to mention I know you’ve created other stuff that I probably don’t even know about. What I’m trying to say is you have that Dwarrow-like urge to make and enjoy works of your own hand, and I respect that.
This is a commission for lemonpeasy. She asked me to draw her as a Dwarrowdam, and let me tell you…I love her hair so much. It’s so curly and her eyes are so blue! I don’t even think I’ve done them half the justice they deserve.
The dwarf ladies are multiplyiiing XD Dwerís daughter of Nerís, the badass warrior mother of Balin and Dwalin, as usual from determamfidd‘s fic Sansûkh. ❤ I don’t think she’s had a single line, but I totally love the story of how she met and ended up courting Fundin. (I sorta wanna draw that at some point XD -puts it on the never ending list-)
Considering that Balin and Dwalin look almost nothing alike, I headcanoned that they probably each took predominantly after one parent. It should be pretty obvious which is which ;p (Though Balin got Dwerís’ deep brown eyes, while Dwalin got his father’s green.) Dwalin also got his height from his mother- you’d better believe she’s taller than Fundin, though not quite as huge a height gap as their children. xD

Yes yes, a thousand times yesssssssssssss!!! I’ve always seen Fundin as more of a scholarly type, rather like a lawyer, and Dweris as the kind of person who throws themself into perfecting their martial arts! AND YAAAS SHE IS TOTALLY TALLER THAN FLUFFY CHUBBSTER FUNDIN. I love eeeeet holy shit. ❤
Her eyes! SCARS YUS OH WOW – and her tattoos! The haaaaaaaaaaaair *dies the death of fab Dwarrowdam hair* THE little mohawk and gaaaaaaah the bead on her ear and UNF she is so gorgeous, Avi! I love her lips, and her lovely dwarfy nose – you are a star, thank you so so mUCH!
