will we ever get everyone’s dark name, or will it only be a select few? (i wouldn’t blame you, your dark names are perfect, but they must be hard to come up with! I certainly couldn’t do it)
Hee, I will try and do as many as possible over time. They are difficult, tbh.
I’ve at least made dark-names for the whole Company! *waves tiny flag* Yay me!
“Hello, little one,” Jeri muttered for the seventh time, cradling the tiny dwarf infant in their arms.
As they gazed down at the bundle that was their newborn child, Jeri thought they were almost close to collapsing with emotion and exhaustion. However, they did have the capacity to wonder over a few things. One was that their child – their child (and thinking about this almost set Jeri off blubbing again; they thought they were over the worst of it now) – was so impossibly small. They surely couldn’t have been that small when they were born.
Another was how utterly beautiful they were. Of course, Jeri had scoffed whenever anyone brought up the mix that they would have Khalei’s good looks – but even so, their child was perfect in every way conceivable – a miniature version of Khalei’s bow mouth, coupled with Jeri’s nose and a hint of warm, golden sunshine in their cheeks. Jeri couldn’t help but sit on the edge of the bed and bury their nose in their tiny hat, tears running into their beard again.
He felt their sanmelek take their hand in theirs, and Jeri looked up to find the same dazed expression on their face, before they gently leaned in for a kiss.
“You are incredible, ghivasha,” they murmured.

What’s Narvi’s dark-name?
Here’s the Dark-Names thus far, Nonnie.
Hrera and Dori descend on Bifur in a haze of hair products and polite rage at being stymied when it comes to hair. After some time, they are successful. Now everyone knows what they were plotting about. There were blueprints.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Bomris totally invites Dori and co. over for Broadbeam dumpling soup – it’s her recipe that Bombur and Barur have made so famous in Erebor as the kitchen standard. Bomris and Hrera tasting each others’ soup and giving each other The Nod.
YESSSS 🙂

Dain would totally pull a Vili and go and watch Thira at a certain time each day. Maybe they had a special time, where they would just spend time together? That’s when he goes, and he stands by her or sits across from her, commenting on her newest projects or what trouble Thorin & Co. are getting into now.
*lip trembles*
He would.
And I expect it was at day’s end, myself. When all the business of the kingdom and the forge was done, and they could shed the skins they had to wear for the benefit of others, and just be themselves in each other’s company.
AUGH, NONNIE.
Bomris and Dori just having the quietest, most contented tea parties. Dori makes all sorts of sweets – a mix of the cheap, easy ones that were all that he and Bomris could make for their littles in Ered Luin, and the fancy, delicate ones with the expensive ingredients that he could splurge on in Erebor. There is tea – sometimes the think, sweet workers’ tea, and sometimes expensive tea from the Eastern or Southern dwarves’ quarters. They clink their cups together and sip.

*wibbles* ohhhhhhh
Everyone knows that Dori has accepted Bifur as one of the family when he sits Bifur down and starts fussing over him and trying to tame his hair. (It’s the first time Dori has been defeated by someone’s hair.)

THAT’S ADORABLE, NONNIE
Dori totally goes on an agressive mothering spree in his first few months in the Halls. Nori and Ori (and pretty soon, Bifur) are awash in new clothes and knitwear. Their hair is braided. They are fed massive amounts of food. Dori meets Bifur’s mom and makes an especial cause of feeding her.

Bomris and Dori. Dori and Bomris.
BOMRIS AND DORI.
He’d be so gentle. She’d be so gentle. THEY’D BE SO GENTLE.
