Frerin nods and then draws Thorin into a rough hug. “You take care
too, Thorin. I don’t want to return to find that someone has assassinated you.”He raises a brow. “Why would someone want to assassinate me?”
“I don’t know,” Frerin grins, “but it is you we’re talking about here…”
Thorin sighs, a long-suffering sound long perfected. “Hilarious.”
Frerin is already nearly out the door when Thorin calls after him.

Whoops, no it isn’t, Nonnie! I am just tremendously slack about keeping everything updated regularly *sheepish smile* I tend to fly online for a couple of seconds, reblog madly, and zip away (in a cloud of stress). Housekeeping happens during the school holidays these days!!!

I feel a bit odd about posting up stuff about GAC atm, so have something from my other longish fic that I should really update already.
(The parantheses bit is meant to be in Black Speech, but I haven’t gotten around to translating it just yet *shrug*)
(It’s somewhere around six sentences, I think. I dunno. *double shrug*
*muffled whimpering and harsh breathing* AUGH
HEY GIGOLAS PEOPLE CHECK THIS OUT!
There’s this awesome new WIP fic called ‘Nothing Gold Can Stay’ (no, not that one!) by TAFKAB Where everybody lives but Thorin is still nuts so to humiliate him Thranduil offers up a years worth of supplies in exchange for a Dwarf of Durin’s line going into servitude for 77 years.
He didn’t expect anyone to agree so when Gimli volunteers and he doesn’t actually want a slave he gives him to Legolas.
So far it’s really good, both Legolas and Gimli acting as one would expect at that point but slowly (very, very slowly) warming up to each other. It sort of implies that it’s going to go through the war of the ring so that should be interesting. Though I can’t remember if 77 years is within that time or not. (It is in the movie verse but I think it just catches in the book verse) in any case this is an au so they might have the war of the ring earlier.
In any case the way things are going they are going to be AT LEAST friends before the 77 years are up. (I have this little thing in my head where they go to the council together and are all best of buds and everyone being all WTF?!)
In any case, it’s awesome so far so check it out and give the author some love.
