So. Rey, Finn and Poe. I love them as friends, possibly also Finn dating either or both of them but I get super, super uncomfortable whenever someone mentions Rey and Poe having a romantic relationship because, well, Rey is nineteen. Poe is thirty two. I just, well, I don’t think that an acceptable age gap? Especially with Rey being barely out of her teens. (this is coming from someone who has made the mistake of dating people far too old for him. And is still a teen)

Oh christ, I am so sorry you lived through that, Nonnie. All my love and respect to you. You are strong to have come through that. I have not been in such a relationship, but I have been there for people who have. I can understand why such a concept raises serious alarm bells for you.

When it comes to this ship, I honestly? Didn’t know that there were official ages. Are these the actor’s ages? IDK, I am so not across this. I truly thought that Finn and Rey were in their 20s, and Poe in his early 30′s. Daisy Ridley looks like she’s in her 20s, to me.

I have mentioned before that my fave iteration of this OT3 is with ace!rey in a queerplatonic relationship with Finn and Poe – with adventures and new jedi training and rebel business and belonging and emotional support and cooking with real food and OMFG WHAT IS THIS SNOW AND RAIN STUFF WOOOOW. I truly believe, too, from what we have seen of the characters, that neither Rey or Finn would allow the oldest member of the triad to coerce or manipulate them. I also think that Rey is very very capable of looking out for herself.

(bear in mind that the above is referring to ‘what we have seen of the characters’ – bc there is a lot more “fun” to come from these films, I am sure.)

I do sympathise with your feelings though. I can only suggest you block the tag ‘jedistormpilot’ as I know I am far from the only person who has thought, ‘they’re SO CUTE’. 

Dets…Have you considered that Finn is a Ravenclaw? Hear me out. He was a loner in his trooper days bc he got really good grades. He was smart enough to abandon the First Order, despite the conditioning. He schemed to get himself on Starkiller base.

That’s a good point, but have you considered Puff Finn? 

EDIT BC I HAVE THINGS TO ADD a) Puffs can be smart and capable and get amazing grades, b) Finn literally says ‘because it’s the right thing to do’ c) Hufflepuffs are amazeballs, and Finn is amazeballs and the universe needs more Hufflepuff headcanons for main characters please d) sorry but the boy looks WAY too good in black and yellow(ish)
