Gigolas Week 2017!

gigolasweek:

Now that gigolas has passed 1k on AO3, let’s have a gigolas week to get us closer to 2k!

The week will run March 26-April 1

Please reply to this post with theme suggestions!

!!!

suggestion 1. Lords of Aglarond and Ithilien (haven’t seen a lot of fic about this era!)

suggestion 2. Through the Eyes of Others (e.g. Gandalf, Galadriel, Aragorn, Eomer, etc etc)

suggestion 3. In Another Universe (stick them in another fictional universe of your choosing. Pern, Hogwarts, Westeros, Earthsea, Discworld, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, Arrakis, Fantastica, Star Wars, you name it)

So I just made my mum listen to your gigolas week day 3 entry and I think she liked it. She laughed a lot at least.

Update: she posted a link to the song on her facebook page. Which means she loved it. Also I am still somewhat freaked out about the fact that my fifty-something year old mother uses fandom speak and ship names -.-;

Tell your mum ahhhh thank you so very much (I am an older fan myself, so…! *fistbumps her*) and I am so thrilled she enjoyed it!! Thank you too for telling me, Nonnie!

omg facebook eeeeek

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A DOWNLOAD LINK OF THAT SONG YOU DID BECAUSE IT’S GORGEOUS AND JUST HOLY BUCKETS I NEED TO LISTEN TO THAT CONSTANTLY (sorry for shouting but you did such a wonderful job. Agkkxsgjvsfjxd)

ohmigosh, really?! Ahhh, thank you, you are so kind! *blushes like mad* oh wow, I am all fuzzy-brained now, you shall make me tongue-tied!

I am hoping you mean the recent Gigolas week song, “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” – if so, there should be a ‘download’ link just underneath the play button!

*hides, meeping* oh my goodness, thank you!

the-dragongirl:

In very late honor of Gigolas Week (because my dissertation prevented me during actual Gigolas Week), here is a podfic of one of @determamfidd‘s contributions: Both the Sweet and Bitter, and beautiful Gigolas story from Arwen’s point of view. Thank you so much, Dets, for recording permission!

SCREAMING BC THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING AND READ WITH SUCH SENSITIVITY

OH MY GOSH BARIS, YOU ARE A COMPLETE MAGICIAN

THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!

WHEN WILL THE NEXT CHAPTER OF SANSUKH BE UP IM SO EXCITED AAAAHHHH I NEED MORE SANSUKH IN MY LIFE IVE ALREADY REREAD IT TWICE.

SOOOOOOON!

I have been having something of a hiatus, lately. First, I’ve been doing a fair bit of travelling… then work went bonkers, it’s all been piling up! I also had a bit of a scare recently. Plus someone decided to write a ‘review’ that was really just an excuse for bashing me, which really shook me up and completely sapped any desire I had to write at all. I’ve been lying low, but now I am taking baby steps to rekindle my inspiration and my fandom activities!

So yeah – I hope to have the new chapter (AW YISS WE’RE OFF TO MOUNT DOOOOOOOM MOTHERCUDDLERS) out very soon!

In the meanwhile, there is much gigolasy goodness going on (heh alliteration) in the form of gigolas week! I wrote two things for it: Both the Sweet and the Bitter (Arwen POV), and a Middle-Earth/Discworld crossover,

I Comma Square Bracket Recruit’s Name Square Bracket

what else, what else… oh, I also sang a thing! If you ever wanted to hear an Australian trying a Scottish accent whilst singing Golden Age jazz, your day has arrived 🙂

I do apologise for the long delay. I am spending today writing, though (and also hopefully singing as well) so there will be more stuff in the very near future!!

morvidra:

(Huh. I actually got something finished for Gigolas week.)

“And so singing, Legolas went away down the hill.” –RotK–

And Gimli went after him.

(Legolas’s words are by J.R.R. Tolkien; Gimli’s are mine.)
