Ok, so I must admit that I didn’t care a whit for Gigolas until I read @determamfidd‘s Sansukh. She brought her game and brought it hard, and now I’m just dead, ok, because I honestly can’t believe I didn’t ship it before.
But honestly, I think the main reason I fell so hard for this ship is how she wrote them.
Namely, they are complete. fucking. dorks.smitten dorks.

– after Kili recovered after BotFA they went to travel the world (starting from Blue Mountains, someone has to tell Dís and Vili that hi we’re all alive oh btw this is my girlfriend)
– Tauriel gives Kili her necklace when Kili gives Tauriel the runestone
– Kíli gives Tauriel like a crapton of her embroidery works when they got engaged, as courting gifs
– oh gods the braid artwork Kili does with Tauriel’s hair
– Tauriel teaches Kili some Sindarin so the next time Thrandy insults Thorin Kili can tell Thrandy to go fuck himself in Sindarin
– in their wedding Tauriel wears green and gold, and Kili wears blue and mithril

– the time Thrandy walked in on them while they were having sexy times is never to be spoken about again

– after a bit of a rough start they both actually have a pretty good relationship with their in-laws
– at their wedding Thrandy gave them some old necklaces he and his wife used to wear, for good luck in marriage; Legolas cried
– Gloin still likes to jokingly remind Legolas of the time he called Gimli a goblin mutant
– Gimli threatens to never speak to his dad again whenever that joke comes up bc Mahal dad stop embarrassing me in front of my husband!!!

enemies to friends to lovers is literally my favorite trope. i will never tire of seeing two characters go from hating each other, to tentatively feeling out a friendship, to slowly developing feelings for each other and then falling in love. it’s painfully cliché and i want to see it e v e r y w h e r e
