Although, what I can reveal is that Gimizh utterly adores and hero-worships his uncle and is very proprietary over his affection and time, like so many small children are (see Cry Uncle: Gimli is his troll).
Gimizh ALSO loves Laerophen with complete sunny abandon – well, when he’s not bein’ weird and formal and stiff.

Hey there – I am THRILLED you enjoyed it! I was very apprehensive about combining two of my most favourite worlds in the entirety of fiction, and it’s so good to hear that you feel I succeeded! Sir Pterry’s tone is especially difficult to match, he has such a recognisable style!!
Ah yeah, this definitely takes place AFTER Raising Steam. And as I have only just finished The Shepherd’s Crown, it will probably incorporate new concepts from that book too.
(The afterword of The Shepherd’s Crown made me cry like a fountain, ngl.)

Now I can’t stop thinking about this. I know that there’s art around here somewhere of Tauriel with short hair following Kili’s death… but its carefully coiffed and maintained.
Elves are super careful about their hair, but what if Legolas can’t be arsed to care when his beloved is gone? What if he kneels by the water and slices off handful after handful, heedless of the uneven and ragged edges? Tears pooling in his eyes and sliding down his cheeks until the his vision blurs and the water reflects back golden with his hair. What if when he is done, his hair isn’t even long enough to brush his neck, and he’s nicked himself with the knife in his grief?
I’d keep going but I just made myself sad. Oops.

Legolas is the biggest awkward dork in all of LOTR, he may be very skilled with his bow and arrow and be very pretty but he’s still a fucking dork who brags abut his friends to everyone and brakes out into song randomly and has the biggest dorkiest crush on Gimli which he thinks he’s hiding well but literally everybody knows,even the fucking trees know,

So I totally forgot that now that the creators for the Happy Hobbit Holiday exchange are revealed, I can actually post this! XD @somethingincorporeal asked for Gigolas, and I was only to happy to deliver. Amazingly I had actually never drawn them before?? Clearly this needed to be fixed, and it was a ton of fun to do so ❤

“No,” The Dwarf’s eyes shone like a cat’s in the half-light. “I am not such a fool.”
