The ending gave me a lot of feelings so I went back and drew one of the happy middle parts. Featuring Dain fishing with Fili, Kili, Thorin Dainul, Gimli, and Gimris, whose ages I may have guesstimated/fudged for optimal adorableness. Also featuring a piglet and a picnic, staples of every happy occasion.

At some point, Dori makes Gimli and Gimizh matching sweaters. Gimizh just about explodes with happiness.

Dori would be pleased. Bofur would giggle aloud at the look on Gimli’s face. Because it’s one thing to wear it at home, but quite another to try and pair it with his armour and gear for patrol.

So, I’ve been rereading Sansûkh, and I was watching the Fellowship of the Ring with my family earlier. When they got to the Chamber of Mazarbul all I could think of was how devastated Balin was. Then Pippin did his thing and I burst out laughing and my mom asks what was so funny and I replied, “Poor Grechar!!” and kept laughing. She didn’t get it, but it made my day and I though I’d share.
