I know there are a lot of Everybody Lives AU, but what about Everybody Dies AU? I cannot stop thinking what if they did recover the mountain, but they don’t get to live in it, they don’t even get to see how it starts to become the kingdom it once was. I can’t stop thinking about Gimli and his mother waiting for Gloin, but the only thing that arrives their home is a death notification.

Gloin and Mizim are very fond of Baris. Mizim spent years feeding Baris all sorts of goodies, “accidentally” making her servings larger and slightly ruining things so that Baris wouldn’t be offended and would take it home with her. Also it was Mizim that got Barum into the jewelry business – he saw her working and was curious. She sponsored him when she saw he showed talent.

Gimizh was totally the baby who crawled backwards. For months. Inexplicably. Bofur laughed and laughed. Gloin went around disentangling the grandbaby when he backed into things. Especially chairs.
