Has Laerophen had much to do with Erebor’s pigs? Did Dain cheerfully introduce him to his latest pet pig, going “Here, meet Coffeebean,” and so Laerophen is petting a giant pig. Getting licked by said pig and not mentioning it because of politeness.

(omfg Coffeebean is a great name for a pig, I love it)

hahahahahahaha!!! Oh, Laerophen would go into Awkward Giraffe mode in seconds, it would be stupendous. PIG. MASSIVE PIG. BE POLITE. IT’S LICKING YOUR ARM. WHAT DO. IDK, SMILE DISTANTLY AND POLITELY AND TRY NOT TO LOOK TOO UNCOMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF BEAMING DWARF KING.

Little Gimizh having a “God of Cake” moment about cookies. Probably at Dis’ birthday party. It’s adorable. Wee Thorin tried to contain him but had to give up because there’s only so much that can be done about tiny sugar-fuelled dwarflings.

OMFG though – the ‘God of Cake’ isn’t exactly adorable (though it is hysterical!!!) and I can totally see Gimizh having a sugar-induced feeding frenzy complete with being sick and tantrums and howling… all the while secure in the knowledge that HE WON. THE. COOKIES. Take that!

IT’S [cue liberty bell march] HEADCANONPALOOZA PART TEN!

OH OUCH @ THAT DAIN HC. OUCH. OUUUUCH i love it

And my own Duchess has a bit of a foot fetish herself! She rubs her head against feet and shoes obsessively. It makes getting up a little tricky sometimes, because you’re just. Um. Okay, kitty, you do you.

AAAAH OMFG OF COURSE, GIMIZH IS TOTALLY PONYO *sings* Gimizh, gimizh gimizh, child of Erebor, tiny little Dwarfling, the terror we adore!

Oh! I love the practice-piercings idea too – does anybody remember those magnetic earrings that were around a gigazillion years ago? I bet Dwarves make use of stuff like that!

(omg everybody, I just got back from swimming with my Dwarfling…and my inbox has asploded again! I love you all, tremendously. But pretty pretty please can we maybe scale it back to one headcanon per person per day? I would like to give them all more time, you see!)

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9

You like Narvi and Celebrimbor as a couple now? Cheers! I thought you said a while back you didn’t know how to “ship” them, or if you just liked them together even if it was platonic or whatever. Just curious, will the readers of Sansukh ever find out the details of Narvi’s deep hatred for Sauron? Or can we just assume Sauron’s deceit and eventual murder of Celebrimbor was enough? Though… I think Narvi was dead by that time… oh… was she watching all that unfold???? OMG… I made myself sad

I like Narvi and Celebrimbor any old how! Ace snugglebuds, saps in love, besties with hammers, idc how they are put together, but I like it!

Yeah, Narvi’s hatred of Sauron is unspoken in the fic, but it refers to what he did to Celebrimbor. Narvi is reeeeeaaaaally not a forgiving soul. And yeah, she saw it all.

Sigh. Poor Narvi.

Heyho Dets! I love Sansûkh so much, I must have read it 15 times by now… and I’m not stopping. Thank you for your amazing work! I was wondering if we will ever get to see some girl dwarves? The little ones are adorable of course, but I miss an important daughter that gets born :(

Heyho Nonnie! Awwww, thank you so very much, I am so thrilled and happy that you like it!

Ooooh, I HAVE PLANS. Plans that you will like! Stick with me, Nonnie! 😉

Quick song headcannon, because I have access to a piano and was thinking of Sansukh, (obviously). The song of beginnings that Gimli sings in chapter 28 is a very spiritual/secret/sacred thing for the dwarves, but it’s also one of the songs that absolutely everyone loves to sing, because it’s about Mahal and their love for them all, so it’s not a fancy song that only trained vocalists can sing but a very simple tune that is easily transposed into different keys so it can be sung in any range. 1/2

2/3 Actually But it’s also a song that gets a really special treatment around holidays, the reclaiming of Erebor, Durin’s Day, etc, and so the more musically inclined dwarves get together and three dwarves sing it with the bass singing the first two stanzas, the alto/tenor (it varies) singing the middle three, and the soprano sings the last two. And what makes it really special is that the song keeps getting transposed up a seventh each stanza, to honor the seven fathers, Mahal, and Eru.

3/3 (and I mean it this time). Baris Crystaltongue’s first actual performance in front of more than family and friends is singing this as the soprano for the Dwarves of Ered Luin/Erebor the first holiday after the Erebor refugees have made it to the Blue Mountains. (Not sure if that timeline fits, but it makes sense in my head.)

That timeline fits PERFECTLY ACTUALLY OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A BEAUTIFUL IDEA <333333333

Thank you so much, Nonnie! Oh, that really makes my heart quiver… I particularly love the idea of transposing up a seventh for each verse! It would make it sound so shivery. (the poor poor basses, though!!!)
