blahdeblahs under the cut

soooo, I will be away from Tuesday 26th May to Sunday 31st May. Going down to NSW to see my family! Not my first time flying with the Dwarfling, but certainly the first time with an older baby. So much more aware and ACTIVE, oh noooo – god, wish me luck, this is gonna be difficult.

I will be around-ish? But not able to really answer big questions until I’m back. I’ll have my phone on me. It’s crappy for Skype though (and I HATE tumblr mobile, BLAHHHH). So if I surface now and then, you’ll know I’ve found two seconds to myself!

Deadline Update

sansukhpodfic:

Auditions for the roles of Dori, Náli and Lóni are now closed.

If you are auditioning for any other character, the deadline has been extended to May 14th. Please continue to send in your auditions, but be aware that we will not be accepting any further auditions for Dori, Náli, or Lóni.

Thanks to everyone who has auditioned so far, and good luck!

sansukh mobi+epub, intro

cassiofights:

Okay I have finally grown desperate enough to compile a proper epub+mobi of Sansukh. I ❤ mobi download on ao3 (I am very much a Kindle person), it works great for the most part, and I do most of my fic reading on the road, so. Perfect.

It doesn’t work too well for Sansukh though. All the art that is included in the work, is dropped from the mobi, so you get the titles (you know what you’re missing), but not the pics. I knew that epub export simply hotlinked art from the ao3 version, but I was completely unprepared for the loss of chapter end notes. I mean.. ???

There’s a way around this though and that is to reassemble an epub locally (mobis are practically not editable). Sigil is the free open source epub editor that I’m going to be using, it works like an html editor, except at the end, it bundles up text and pictures into the epub container. When all is done, I’ll convert the epub to mobi with Calibre.
