Okay, so I read chapter 35 at way too late at night, and cried myself a river like everyone else, then went to bed. My comments are on A03 and I love Sansûkh more with every update. But that’s not my question. I was wondering, what is proper protocol when you find typos in fanfic? I do some copyediting, so I always find them. And I would report them to the author (cause they’re easy to fix!) but some seem offended by that. So I ask you as an author I respect a great deal, what do you think?

Wow, thank you!

Well, I don’t have a problem with it at all! I do my own editing, so if anybody finds a typo I am always really grateful if they drop me a “psst found a typo here: [quote goes here]”. Sometimes it’s an intentional word use or contraction or accent, but sometimes it isn’t!

I don’t know, I really don’t think there’s a rule that works for everyone in fanfiction. Some people might be really happy to have their typos/mispellings gently pointed out (me!), but for some it might be really confronting. *shrug* Depends on the author, I guess!

How did you get so dang good at writing? I’m kind of in awe at your incredible skills

*blushes like the FREAKIN SUN*

You are very kind! Thank you so very much!!

Welp, I blab a bit on my writing tag: how does a dets write? I ramble a lot about where I came from writing-wise, and what my process is (process what is process HAHAHA that’s hilarious, I am so funny). If you’re interested (and masochistic) you could check it out!

i’m not here to ask for you to update or anything but i was wondering, have you dropped Sansûkh or is it on hiatus/do you have writers block, or simply taking your time? (which you obviously have the right to do!!) because it sounds like a wonderful fic but i’m wary about starting something that might be getting dropped and or is dropped already :/

Oh hey there, Nonnie! Nope, it is NOT dropped, or on hiatus. I am just continually interrupted when writing nowadays! I will never abandon Sansukh, absolutely never

Current chapter word count update: 10K

Chapters tend to be between 12-15K long. I’m getting closer to posting it, I promise!

A while ago I was thinking about how great it would be to have written something as well-received as Sansûkh. However the more I think about it, the more I’ve come to realise how much pressure you must feel to update consistently and stay active online. I just want you to know that you are totally supported by the whole Sansûkh fanbase. I’m sure that no one would ever mind if you ever felt the need to take a break. x

Oh, Nonnie, thank you. You are tremendously kind. Really – thank you so much.

I am actually hugely fortunate in my friends here on tumblr. I would love to meet you all, tbh, I wish I didn’t live on the arse-end of the world. But I did take a break, a big one! I took nearly four months off writing after the Dwarfling was born, and everyone was fantastically supportive. Since then, I update sporadically as time allows, and that has been accepted with such grace and generosity, I can’t even describe. I can’t commit to a schedule to save my life, and still everyone is very kind and very understanding and just so incredibly beautiful.

Even when I have to take a few days of off-time (I usually have family staying over, which means I am forced to be social boo hiss), it has never been an issue.

I am just feeling a lot of love for you all rn ❤

It’s gotten to the point where I find myself using Sansukh as a scale for other fics, even in other fandoms. Either lenght (94000 words!…. that’s not even a third of Sansukh), emotional rollercoaster (as in, will I need a hug after this ) and the words “slow burn” (ha, fics with 10 chapters to the smut scene, look at 30 chapters to a hand kiss. Plus the other OTP is half dead! You know nothing of my pain you tiny fic!)

MY LEGACY YESSSS

Thank you, Nonnie, this made me grin 😀

330K to a HAND KISS BWAAHAHAHAHHAHHHAHAHHA *thud*
