D: Is there a song or a playlist to associate with [insert fic]?

ERRm – yeah, for Sansukh there is a whole TON of songs!

I don’t tend to listen to music or associate an artist’s work with a fic – music is incredibly personal and subjective to me, and so what feels right to me might not feel right to someone else, and I know that. 

That being said, I am a sucker for any and all choral music. 😀

F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it. 

oh gosh, this is hard to choose. 

Hmm. The opening scene of ‘Irreconcilable Differences’ is, I think, one of my better pieces of character writing (for Tony, that is). I’m also still quite bashfully proud of my Savage Hulk voice 🙂

There’s three dialogue pieces in ‘Sansukh’ that seemed to just… fall into place, though I know it’s because I laid MASSES of groundwork for them!

The first is the two juxtaposing Dis-and-Gimli scenes… the one from Chapter 3, and the one from Chapter 45. Ever wanted to give yourself a cookie? That was me, writing that scene 😀

The second is the hair-cutting scene in Chapter 15. I think that’s one of my best-paced scenes EVER. 

The last is the scene between Bilbo and Thorin in Chapter 39. I am still SO proud of the verbal rug-pull I gave Thorin, SERIOUSLY I am. 

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting? 

THREE BILLIONTY AND ELEVEN TIMES. and I will STILL have left mistakes in it, I know I know I know AUGH.

This feeling, when you love Sansukh so much you basically refresh it everyday twice, just to make sure there was no update. Dets, you are amazing author and I adore you and this fanfic, its diversity and thoughtfulness and cuteness. Thanks to it I made peace with my bi/pansexuality. Thank you so much.

Guh, I am still being flattened by work, and we had visitors over this weekend. So, no update yet (DAMMIT). I am inching ever closer, however!

(also: had a new idea for a song. DOUBLE GODDAMMIT. I don’t have the effort in me to make another Light on the Horizon!!! this one will likely be a LOT smaller, heheh)

Hi! I’m a big fan of Sansukh, and I was wondering if there was an update schedule or if you were planning another update soon?

I am afraid that instead of an update schedule, there is just an A4 piece of paper with “SHITFUCKSHIT” written on it, hehehe. In other words, there is no update schedule – I post the minute I have finished a chapter (and often, I am still editing it after posting). 

I’ve just gotten back from a very long trip/holiday/visit to family in another state! I hope to have another chapter out next week (I HOPE I HOPE, cross your fingers and toes for me!) – but I haven’t even started it yet, tbh. 

I know what is going to happen in it, in broad strokes, and once I begin writing I tend to move fast, so it is entirely doable to get a chapter out next week. My awesome lil toddler goes back to daycare next week, too, and I will actually have the opportunity – huzzah! So, sorry that I can’t be more reliable, but I promise I am doing my best 🙂

I started posting this thing on 24th June 2013. It’s older than my own child. It’s been a gigantic part of my life for such a long time now. 

I’m gonna miss it too.

(I’m probably going to be writing one-shots for the Sansukh Appendices for a while, I suspect hahaha – and of course there’s the amazingness that is the podfic – HUZZAH)

I’m super happy you’re updating so swiftly… I ended up several chapters behind and sort of lost several months ago and am basically waiting for the last chapter to finally be put up so I can sit down from the first chapter and binge-read the whole thing in one go and explode XD

awwww, I’m glad! I am gonna have to slow down a little now, though – the Dwarfling is going to be home with me all day for the next week and a half! Which will be WONDERFUL – and EXHAUSTING, heh. 

I really wanted to have this story finished by the end of the year, but I don’t know if I can make it, what with the holidays etc! I will certainly try to put out another chapter as soon as I can. But I now suspect that I will finish early next year, in January.
