1. Gimli/Legolas. DUH. The OTP to Rule Them All, the ship that sails itself to Valinor, you comfort me, for any love, etc etc etc skjdhfgljsdhfa NOTHING HAS EVER COME CLOSE to this, the flagship of the Armada. I will never stop writing them, I will always love them and their relationship.

2. Bruce Banner/Tony Stark. Shaddup, they’re beautiful. I love them, I won’t ever stop loving them. Oh, these brilliant, beautiful, hurting men. (BRUCE BBY, TONY BBY, WHY CAN’T THEY EVER BE HAPPY)

3. Finn/Rey/Poe Dameron. (this is for poly ships too yeah? okay it is now) MY NEWEST LOVE. lsdghflhjsgflajhgfjlsahfga Yes. Yes please, more please – if I were confident enough in the SW universe I’d write some myself, but as it stands I am gobbling up every single fic about these three, and then some.

4. Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers. See 2. Also OUCH. These two give me terrible, wonderful heartache. 

5. Bilbo Baggins/Thorin Oakenshield. AUGH. AUGH. ALSO YESSSS BUT ALSO AUGH. Ohhhhh it hurts, but hurts so good I can write over 400K about their way back to each other and still have words to spare

So. Rey, Finn and Poe. I love them as friends, possibly also Finn dating either or both of them but I get super, super uncomfortable whenever someone mentions Rey and Poe having a romantic relationship because, well, Rey is nineteen. Poe is thirty two. I just, well, I don’t think that an acceptable age gap? Especially with Rey being barely out of her teens. (this is coming from someone who has made the mistake of dating people far too old for him. And is still a teen)

Oh christ, I am so sorry you lived through that, Nonnie. All my love and respect to you. You are strong to have come through that. I have not been in such a relationship, but I have been there for people who have. I can understand why such a concept raises serious alarm bells for you.

When it comes to this ship, I honestly? Didn’t know that there were official ages. Are these the actor’s ages? IDK, I am so not across this. I truly thought that Finn and Rey were in their 20s, and Poe in his early 30′s. Daisy Ridley looks like she’s in her 20s, to me.

I have mentioned before that my fave iteration of this OT3 is with ace!rey in a queerplatonic relationship with Finn and Poe – with adventures and new jedi training and rebel business and belonging and emotional support and cooking with real food and OMFG WHAT IS THIS SNOW AND RAIN STUFF WOOOOW. I truly believe, too, from what we have seen of the characters, that neither Rey or Finn would allow the oldest member of the triad to coerce or manipulate them. I also think that Rey is very very capable of looking out for herself.

(bear in mind that the above is referring to ‘what we have seen of the characters’ – bc there is a lot more “fun” to come from these films, I am sure.)

I do sympathise with your feelings though. I can only suggest you block the tag ‘jedistormpilot’ as I know I am far from the only person who has thought, ‘they’re SO CUTE’.

1. Gigolas. 

Baby’s first OTP. Shipped it for (quite literally) decades – before I even knew what shipping was. I’ll probably keep on shipping it long after I am dead. The ship that sails itself to Valinor.

2. Jedistormpilot

A new one, but omfg I love these goobers. Any iteration, any configuration. AroAce!Rey in a QP relationship with Finn and Poe is my favourite though. 

3. Bagginshield

The epic sad one… everyone needs one, yeah? *cries salt tears* I love em. It’s not fair. I love em. Damn it, canon.

4. Science Boyfriends

So, I am a Bruce Banner tragic, lbr here. And I adore Bruce shipped with. Er. Everybody. Because Bruce needs ALL THE LOVE AND CUDDLES. But I am particularly fond of this ship, because Tony ALSO needs a hug, and Bruce is an especially huggable fluffy science man. 

5. Vimes/Lady Sybil Ramkin

GODDAMN IT I ADORE THEM: they’re so real and alive, they’re a wonderful portrayal of how people grow comfortable together, the little foibles that both irritate and amaze
