OMFG DYING OF THE ADORABLE

Dori makes a bunch of knitwear for Balinith, using special yarn that feels good on his skin. And in flattering colors, because Dori. So many cute scarves and hats and mittens and sweaters. So fluffy. So calming.

Mizim and Gloin have sweaters that match except for different color schemes. It’s sappy.

I have the feeling that shawls made with hobbitish designs become rather popular in Erebor and Dale. Because they are different than the angular Dwarven ones. Eventually Dori mixes them and so makes very regular flower patterns and squarish leaves.

Oh yes! I love that idea. Dori would make absolutely beautiful shawls and swaddles too, I imagine. Softest wool imaginable.

*happy sigh*

At some point, Dori makes Gimli and Gimizh matching sweaters. Gimizh just about explodes with happiness.

HE WOULD

HE UTTERLY, TOTALLY, COMPLETELY WOULD. And he’d badger Gimli into wearing it all the time, so that they would match as often as possible. Gimris would shake her head and try to hide her smile. Dori would be pleased. Bofur would giggle aloud at the look on Gimli’s face. Because it’s one thing to wear it at home, but quite another to try and pair it with his armour and gear for patrol.

Mahal help the first Dwarf who laughs.

Dori makes Mrs Weasley sweaters for his people. With their sigils instead of letters. Balinith’s are especially well-loved, as they are often patterned in his current interest. Dwalin’s often have a pattern of axes surrounding the sigils.

Yarn is lace-weight merino in the colourway Trees In the Dark. Took me a bazillion years. There’s like, eight thousand beads on this thing. I’ll never have anywhere to wear it. I do not care.
