more Gimli. (shhh drawing beards is so fun) I’m sick and trying not to fall asleep so doodles. An excuse to draw Gimli freckles. Why haven’t I been giving him freckles all along? This technically could have nothing to do with sansukh but it’s Sansukh’s fault I’ve been drawing him so much so it’s getting tagged
And then Bilbo’s eyebrows shot up as Thorin Oakenshield, naked to his
waist and with the messiest hair that Bilbo had ever seen, sat up in
the pallet and wiped down his face. He yawned, and Bilbo could have
counted every tooth in his head. “Should have said something sooner,
foolish star of mine,” he mumbled in a rather gravelly, satisfied sort
of voice, still scratching at his stomach absently. He looked
tremendously pleased about something.
Oh, hells. Bilbo did not know where to put his face. Not this, not now, not him! Thorin
was swinging his legs out from under his blankets, still half-asleep,
and obviously getting ready to rise. Bilbo could feel his ears beginning
to burn, and he knew his whole face was red as a beet.
It all
came flooding back: standing in the sunlit glades of Rivendell and
staring at his own face, wizened nearly beyond recognition. Learning
that these little daydreams of his were rather more than just daydreams.
Finding out that ghosts, as improbable as that sounded, were much, much more than the superstitious fancies of frightened children and the credulous.
Discovering that this pompous regal intolerably rude fool had been stalking him for eighty years!
The moment Thorin noticed him was obvious, as he froze so thoroughly he might as well have been made of stone after all.
This took so much wooooooorrrrrrkkkkk *falls down dead* This might be the biggest project I’ve done. If you look closely through Bilbo you can see Thorin’s reflection in the brass mirror! My primroses and honeysuckle look terrible so I bight rework those someday. but for now I call it quits! Also apparently every Sansukh piece gets pretty star frames. Yes. good. (in defense of Thorin’s awkward pose. His slightly awkward pose was always intentional I was trying to make it look like he was freezing in place)
It is fabulous! I love it, oh my GOD lacefedora! Thank you so much *drools over those tattoos* UNF. And Bilbo’s expression! HAHAHAHAHA oh wow those walls! And the detail, my god, the mirror even! (thorin he’s going to notice the flowers on everything eventually and THEN YOU ARE IN FOR IT MY LAD) and the reflection and WHOA.
Screen capture of progress… man that’s a hideous dresser. Or well Hopefully I’ll get the background and the mirror(so much work still to do on the mirror) to turn out better. As you can see Bilbo is only partially transparent. I did kind of a gradient with it. I wanted his transparency to be very different from Thorin’s in my other work. So I tried to make him more substantial but at the same time less… (Items on dresser; brush, beard comb, and wooden tray with hair beads and clasps in it.) I tried to squeeze all of the details determamfidd had about Thorin’s room in there.
I was told to post as many work in progress shots as I wanted. *cackles* Bilbo colored. (Decided to do the transparency in Photoshop but it shall be done)

SHOCKED HOBBIT IS SHOCKED (awwww yisss blue violets!!) I LOVE HIM, he looks so kerflummoxed and just a little bit turned on hahahah don’t blame him at all
So god this is embarrassing. I made up a little ditty for ‘I sit beside the fire and think’ from chapter 10 of Sansukh and I’ve been humming it all day so I decided to record it. I will probably delete this out of embarrassment at some point so listen while you can. (The things I find myself doing for determamfidd’s creation)
I know I know I’m posting a lot of ‘in progress’ shots of this one but I feel like it so there. Toying with making Bilbo possibly transparent right now. Haven’t decided. Might just do the background in Photoshop after I color Thorin and Bilbo in marker.
Decided to expand Bilbo to show him sitting on the dresser in front of the brass mirror.(what are you doing to yourself Lace that’s a whole other hand to draw?! Thorin’s right hand already sucks!) as you all can see my tablet is glitching to high heaven, hence the *extremely* rough sketch for the expansion in blue and the little glitchy spikes everywhere on Bilbo’s lower half. I don’t know how much I’ll get to work on this tomorrow. (my mom’s birthday) or if I’ll even be able to get my goddamned tablet to work. (thorin, thorin, you look so heartbroken now… you only looked confused before. omg I haven’t drawn on your body hair yet that’s why your torso looks weird. dammit) If only I had some marker paper I would just do this in ink and marker. Enjoy the update shot for now!
