Completed Bagginshield and then the Naked OTPs Sansukh cover!
I GOT A NEW TABLET! I think it shows, I changed Thorin’s tattoos a bit from my previous drawing and I like them a little more now. The mourning mark on Thorin’s back is for Hrera. THEY STILL BOTH LOOK SO SAD. The gigolas one is all cute, Bagginshield’s like ‘nope we’re being tragic up here’. I didn’t add excess tattoos on Thorin like I did with Gimli, mostly because Thorin has SO MANY mourning marks that I think tattoos have become very very important to him.
Thorin’s back ground is colorless because he often seems to describe being dead as the world losing it’s color. Bilbo’s is colored but sort of blank. I was trying to reflect where they are and how they’re separated. and then everybody gets a Gimlîn-zâram back ground. EVERBODY.

Beginnings of the bagginshield companion piece to THIS Gigolas piece for Sansukh. I might Be making this into a Cover type thing for Sansukh I think. LOOK AT HOW SAD THEY ARE. Anyway. You might not see color on this for a little while because I’ll either be coloring is sans tablet or I will be purchasing a new tablet. We shall see!
Okay so I couldn’t decide which one I liked more so you all get both. Leggy’s arm band says ‘Gimli’. (did I get my runes wrong?) I was going to put Gimli’s mark on him but considering the mourning mark tradition in Sansukh it seemed a bit off so I did this instead.(you may recall that band on Gimli’s lower arm says ‘legolas’ in tengwer from a previous drawing).
This took FOREVER. I inked the original drawings then scanned and colored them in photoshop without a tablet. Yeeeup my tablet is Dead Dead Dead. So other then the first ten minutes that I got it working this was all colored with my mouse. All. of. it. It was pretty exhausting. But I wanted more color control with this drawing and I just don’t have enough copics right now to replicate these colors with marker. (I really, really wish my tablet had been working so I could have made Gimli a touch hairier but c’est la vie.) (*weeps over tablet singing ‘amazing grace’ and other assorted funeral songs*) Making Gimli’s freckles out of constellation brushes was the highlight of my year, honestly. This is the first time I’ve gotten Gimli just exactly the way I wanted him.

Gimli needed a naked Pointy-Eared Elvish Princeling to go with him. ~I love doing differences in body ratioooooosssss~ So much. It’s such fun. Legolas has some adornments there simply because I wanted him to have *some* pretties and elves do seem to love their fancy jewelry, why not against their skin too?
Should I color this? What do you all think?
For sansukh just because I accept all gigolas things in sansukh as canon. (and talks with determamfidd always seem to inspire these things!)

I’m transfixed by the differences in them, like – just studying their forearms is amazing… brilliant body ratio stuff, lace!
Was trying to practice my dwarf anatomy so I did Gimli’s back from Sansukh! Mostly though, it was an excuse to do the mourning marks on Gimli’s back finally. I could say it’s from the bath scene in chapter 22, but Gimli has his underthings on then and I wanted to draw his butt. Might try to do a Leggy to go with him later if I feel inspired. I’m just very pleased with how this turned out. (I hope you enjoy determamfidd!)

Super Secret Gigolas Surprise for Determamfidd and the fine fans of Sansukh. (really all of you, I’ve never had nicer tags on my silly artwork ever. You’re all lovely)
full slightly NSFW (nudity but nothing’s really showing) line art under the cut. Please keep in mind that I’ll be posting a full color scan later on. This is just a phone pic of the lineart. (prepare yourself for all the tattoos and body hair that will be placed with color.)
Okay I promised a full break down. First the technical; Copics on marker paper with some color editing in photoshop. Erebor was referenced from the the Mincraft Erebor by _Sidhion_ on planetminecraft.com, simply because it was the best angled screen grab I could find.
I like to think they were attending some sort of formal event in Erebor and this is them slipping away to relax.
Onto the details. These are all mostly born out of a discussion that I had with determamfidd. I out them each in their own culture’s style of clothing but then added patterns on the cloth and on the edging to cross cultures(geometric on leggy. leaves and curves on gimmers). Legolas has one of Gimli’s beads in his hair and Gimli has a fishtail braid in his hair. Gimli has a circlet to go with Legolas’s diadem. Legolas and Gimli both have green leaves of Lorien tattoos to commemorate the beginning of their friendship.(Leggy on his neck, Gimli on his upper right arm) Gimli has a band on his lower arm that says ‘legolas’ written in Tengwar. Legolas has geometric patter on his left wrist and hand. (I’d like to think it marks him as an archer *doodles one on Kili*)
