Scenes from Sansûkh

at Dragoncon!  We had an absolutely incredible time wearing these and shooting together, and we were very lucky to have @richandstrangephotography​ as our photographer!  The response we got from people thrilled to see a troop of bearded and beautiful dwarf women walking around was amazing, even though we weren’t characters they knew. ❤

TBH I’m at the point where it is sometimes difficult to write LOTR fic because I have to sit back and ask myself “Wait, is that character canon or are they a determamfidd OC?” See also: Vili, Hrera, Mizim, and various other assorted parents and spouses. And then I have to COME UP WITH my own OCs and they’re never as cool as yours.

YES THEY ARE – THEY ARE ENTIRELY AS COOL AS ANY ONE OF MINE, they are, promise and cross my heart, bc they came from your mind and imagination and love, and every character that comes from that place is 1000% amazing

(sorry if mine tend to be a bit on the pushy side…! I believe that ‘Vili’ has become a sort of fandom-wide accepted name, though 😀 )

Mizim HATES pretense. Hates it – there was no way she was ever going to put up with distant and awkward politeness BECAUSE DAMMIT HE’S FAMILY NOW

also yep, Gloin is a grumbly bear who enjoys his grudge a bit too much 🙂

I can’t stop thinking about Mizim & Gimris secretly having a bed commissioned that’s big enough for Gimli and Legolas to sleep in without the latter having to fold himself up like a swiss army knife, and then when Laerophen’s out and about in Erebor one day he feels a tug on the back of his tunic and he turns around expecting Gimizh but it’s two grown Dwarves with a sliderule and a notebook and they’re like ‘ere mister, do us a favour and lie down a minute would ya (he’s confused but he does it)

Mrs. Dets, can you tell us if Thira is alright?? After what happened at Dain’s grave I wanted nothing more than to hug her and I hope that her son, Mizim or Dis did exactly that ;-;

Hi there Nonnie!

She’s staying with Dis, at the moment. She’s okay. She isn’t coming out a lot, after what happened. Her son and Bomfris come over each morning for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Mizim has been cooking for them both.

Genild and Beri have also been keeping an eye on her – Genild has known her a long time, from the Iron Hills. Now and then Dori drops by when his busy schedule allows. 

She will be all right – she’s iron all through, our Thira – but she’s had a very rough few months. 

Has Gimizh ever stolen any of Dain’s clothes? Or Dis’?

I don’t think he’d steal from Dain’s – not for lack of trying… it’s only that Dain’s apartments were guarded. He’s the King. 

It was probably a thing, a final test for elite guards like jeri. Keep Gimizh out of the King’s Apartments, and you’ve leapt the last hurdle. 🙂

(he has absolutely NOT stolen Dis’. At all. NOPE. He’ll go steal Mizim’s instead – she’s a lot less terrifying.)
