Like, even tangentially?? Because boy have I got an offer for you!! And by “offer”, I mean I need something from you. I’m a Berklee student, and I need to make contact with someone who works in music for an interview next week. I haven’t been given details on exactly what I’ll be asking for in the interview, but this is for a 3 credit introductory level class so it probably won’t be anything too intense. Really though, if you work with music as a performer, composer, on the business side, anything really, please send me a message! And if you don’t, could you please boost this? Thanks my loves!

filk-dad anon reporting for my dad! He’s got your soundcloud bookmarked on his computer and he says he’s eagerly awaiting everything you’re working on. He loved Gimli’s Jig and your Dain/Thrain/Thror themes (though he does ask if Thrain’s Tune and Thror’s Reel will ever be fleshed out as Dain’s was?). Light on the Horizon is beautiful he says, and he’s looking forward to the live (w/voices?) version. [Dets I think I’ve created a monster, he’s obsessively trawling soundcloud for filk!]

Heck, I’m earnestly hoping he likes Light on the Horizon – I’ve mostly completed the live version! Now I am waiting until the point in the story to release it.

Dets, I finally made it to the master post and just spent the last hour crying over the music. The sheer emotion. Iron Hills Soldier song!! And the Cradle song! I’m emotionally wiped. It’s just like I went back and reread Sansûkh with the music all playing in appropriate places.

Aaaaaaah I am so glad! SERIOUSLY so so glad – it’s my passion, music, and my livelihood, and so the pressure i put on myself when it comes to it is probably a bit too much but yeah, I am so SO GLAD you enjoyed it and that you emotionally connected with it!

Back at it again with the cello music! This one’s also from @determamfidd‘s Sansukh, Gimli’s Jig from Chapter 42. It’s an arrangement, actually written out and not just done by ear this time, because learning things by ear is hard. Also arranged because can I play the part written as is in treble clef? Technically yes. Would I enjoy it? No. 

This was fun. (even though listening to it a day later i can hear how many mistakes I made, yeeeeeeep…)

Dets’s provided sheet music is here, the original violin audio is here, the bass clef arrangement I made is here. This is a video again because, once again, my computer refused to be cooperative in regards to sound files.

Today I have done lots of recording…” 

*whispers* Audacity has a pitch adjustment function for fixing that one intonation mistake in a recording that is driving you crazy 

BUT I’VE ALREADY RENDERED AND MIXED ALL THE PARTS TOGETHER. i’d end up re-pitching all the rest of the harmonies as well, and they’re all correct and in-tune already. In short, I am an eedjit. 

It’s an acappella section too, no place to hide. Gonna have to re-record that entire section, all 16 bars, despite the fact that the fuckup is a blip right at the end. Gah. 

*steels myself* Here we go. Three takes for each part, 16+ individual recordings, coming up.
