The Forge Sits Silent (from Azhâr)
I wrote a song for harp and voice, for Chapter 12 of @yubiwamonogatari‘s brilliant fic Azhâr!
It was a joy to compose for you, dear. Your words are gorgeous.
Lyrics by @yubiwamonogatari, composed and performed by me.

Gimli’s Jig, from Chapter 42 of Sansukh. Composed and played by myself on the violin (though you will most certainly recognise that middle jig!)
It is surprisingly fun to write jigs. Also, to play them 🙂
Sheet music for the violin part can be found here!
For the amazing, wonderful and brilliant @dain-mothafocka. I hope you like it, my Queen!
Basically I have been won over to this ship 😀 Jeri is my OC and Khalei belongs to Jade, but goddamn do they make a hot pair.
Bit of background: When writing this, I wanted something of the lazy langurousness of sliding, slow kisses; something of the ease and warmth of these two. Jeri’s understated humour and Khalei’s confident charm, bouncing off each other and melding into something deep and stable and sensual and dreamy. I wanted to write the sort of simple, evocative theme that makes someone close their eyes and imagine the heat radiating from sun-warmed stone – or soft, tattooed skin.
I also wanted a departure from the more Celtic-based folk tradition I have been using for most of my Dwarf compositions… Khalei is, after all, a Blacklock! And so we have some sliding notes and chords inspired by Jewish and Middle-eastern music in there.
I was going to add a descant and a verse in Khuzdul, but you know what, I think fussing with it more might disturb the atmosphere I am trying to capture! I do hope I succeeded, and I do hope you enjoy this short little thingy.
(if you would like to read more on these sexy dorks: here is my Jeri tag, and here, here, here, here, and here are some AMAZING one-shots by @dain-mothafocka!)
Hello Nonnie!
Ooooh, I honestly do not know. I can’t play guitar! (Violin, voice and atrocious atrocious piano, that’s me)
I can write out the chords for them, if that helps though? I seriously haven’t any idea if these chords are easy ones, or if every guitarist here is glaring at me with the words ‘PLS TRANSPOSE’ glowing in their eyes Guitarists, I would love your feedback and input here!
Anyway, here are the chords, under the cut:
IRON HILLS FOR ME
Verse example:
A A A E
My home is no great hall of stone
A A A E
no golden treasures greet me
A A A E
Nor an ancient place of great reknown
A E A E
no grandeur in its history
Chorus example:
D A
Oh but take me where the falcons scream
D A E
And the wind whips round the mountains
D A E A
where the waters run as red as blood
D E A
and cascade in crashing fountains
BROADBEAM CRADLE SONG
Am Dm Am
It was a very special day
Dm Am
the most special beyond measure
Dm Gm
because it was upon that day
Dm Am7 Dm
that Mahal made a treasure
(I am pretty sure that these are correct, but if I have stuffed up please let me know! And the sheet music for both songs is here for those who are interested in having a copy 🙂

This wonderful Vocalise was composed by @determamfidd for the podfic of her story So Cloaked and So Crowned. She also plays the violin in the recording. It was such a privilege to make music together with you, Dets!
Also, check out @poplitealqueen‘s gorgeous album cover art. Isn’t it awesome?
Ohhhhhhh Barissss ❤ You make my mediocre violin playing sound so amazing 😀
THANK YOU, you stunning talent. Thank you SO MUCH!
For my dear Fishy, because she isn’t even of drinking age yet bwaaahahahahahaha *rubs salt in the wound* FIGHT ME FISHY
This is scheduled to be in Sansukh in a couple of chapters, but I had some time and also FISHY MADE ME. BECAUSE OF REASONS. So it’s a bit early, I hope you enjoy it.
Lyrics under the cut, and PDF sheet music available as always!
CHORUS
Fill your glass
Fill your belly
All my friends are extraordinary!
Here’s to them!
Here’s to you and
Here’s to me!
Raise your voice!
Raise your tankard!
All my friends are golden-standard! Come on,
One for them,
One for you and
One for me!
VERSES
Well I’ve never been a one for miruvor,
And perry ain’t my style,
I’ve no head for Limpë or for applejack,
And moonshine is vile,
O but open up the whiskey barrel ho!
And hand around the beer!
For I’ll drink ‘em til I’m on the table-top,
So let’s sound another cheer!
I’ve a brand new fancy shovel in my pack,
A new bead in my beard,
I’ve a couple coppers in my pocket that will
Soon have disappeared!
So it’s pass around the brandy bottle ho!
Another round on me!
And we’ll drink to those who cannot drink no more,
To old friends and family!
Give a cheer for good old Dwarvish Whiskey ho!
And good old Dwarvish beer!
There’s no taste of home that’s half as welcome
As good old Dwarf-brewed mead!
You can keep your magic Elvish cordials,
And stick ‘em up your bum,
For it’s whiskey, brandy, mead and beer and gin,
Til my drinking days are done!
…
