You like Narvi and Celebrimbor as a couple now? Cheers! I thought you said a while back you didn’t know how to “ship” them, or if you just liked them together even if it was platonic or whatever. Just curious, will the readers of Sansukh ever find out the details of Narvi’s deep hatred for Sauron? Or can we just assume Sauron’s deceit and eventual murder of Celebrimbor was enough? Though… I think Narvi was dead by that time… oh… was she watching all that unfold???? OMG… I made myself sad

I like Narvi and Celebrimbor any old how! Ace snugglebuds, saps in love, besties with hammers, idc how they are put together, but I like it!

Yeah, Narvi’s hatred of Sauron is unspoken in the fic, but it refers to what he did to Celebrimbor. Narvi is reeeeeaaaaally not a forgiving soul. And yeah, she saw it all.

Sigh. Poor Narvi.

okay so it’s almost 3am and i can’t stop thinking about dwarves and elves and friendships and sansukh and everything.

And there’s this scene In Sansukh where Narvi is running outside glaring off towards the nazgul, and Haban (i believe) is like no one hates sauron more than narvi…

and it hurts me. i just keep thinking about Narvi thinking about Celebrimbor. and how Narvi was changed forever by them in life, and death. How Narvi used to have one single braid in their beard, but now has it split in two, to represent two friends standing next to one another (and this is just a weird late night thought/head canon by me).

and so i did a real quick doodle sketch thing. *lies down*

i just have all these feels.

i’m going to make a whole lil mini comic or animation, but i wanted to post my doodle-mainly so i don’t accidentally delete it. and so i remember to do more with this.

i love sansukh for like three dozen different reasons but the one that’s on my mind rn is that the representation is SO. GOOD. like that one’s trans and that one’s agender and that one’s ace and these ones are gay and those ones are lesbian and look at all these awesome female characters and why the hell not let’s make narvi a woman too. more authors need to learn from that.

Ahhh thank you!! *hugs* You are so kind! It is very important to me to keep learning and trying. Tbh, when I began the fic (OVER TWO YEARS AGO, wtf), I hadn’t even dreamed of the eventual diversity I have in it now! It has definitely built over time, as I have learned and grown alongside the story. I didn’t set out that way initially, but I got better 🙂

(Nowadays my attitude can be summed up as: “Yes, more please. More and more and more. Different neurotypes and sexualities and genders and POC: build it richer, build it realer, build it deeper and fuller and more vibrant. Fill up the blank spaces of Middle-Earth with wonderful multiplicity, and if any tiny little bigot cries ‘historical accuracy’, remind them that Elrond’s daddy is a star.”)

Absolutely I stuff up now and then (as humans are prone to do!), but I hope to always keep learning and trying and growing. Because other humans deserve that from me. 

(btw – I find it amazingly hard to imagine Narvi as anything other than a POC Dwarrowdam now!)

I really really love Narvi and Haban’s friendship as it has developed over the course of Sansukh. I also just love your Narvi. She is awesome. So much awesome. (Also I bet Thrain and many other dwarves are secretly/not so secretly absurdly jealous that Haban is now friends with Narvi.)

Ahhhh thank you so so much, Nonnie! I am so happy you like their friendship! I honestly didn’t plan for them to become such buds, they just quietly decided they were besties after being thrown together a couple of times, and then kindly decided to inform me of the fact 😀

I love their little partnership a hell of a lot. Brisk, super-intelligent, haunted dry and absent-minded Narvi, and canny, sharp-tongued, perceptive, warm and irritable Haban. Besties for ever and ever ❤

(Poor Thrain! I don’t think he’d be jealous – he’s not like that, and he wouldn’t be upset or salty with Haban for gaining Narvi’s friendship. He’d probably realise that he really went about it the wrong way, lol. But yes, I expect there are a few Dwarves who look at Haban with dagger eyes these days.)

Dets- thanks to your amazing work, I hardcore ship Narvi and Celebrimbor (queerplatonic is my favourite but I’m fine with anything really). And at some point, I think somebody or another (non-dwarf I mean) would have looked at them and been all ‘But what is HE doing with HER’. How do you think the two of them would individually react to such a judgmental view of their relationship? Or, if they wouldn’t bother about that person, how would they discuss it with each other? Any thoughts?

Wouldn’t bother Narvi, I think. She would be too busy creating marvels and wonders beyond the dreams of others, and thus owning the hell out of everybody for miles around. 

Celebrimbor, though… hmm. Boy is a Noldorin Elf, and worse luck – a Feanorian.

I think he might have gotten himself into some fights, defending the Dwarves and Narvi in particular!
