have you ever read Black Maria by Diana Wynne Jones? that’s the one book i’ve read of hers, and it’s not as fantastical as Howl’s Moving Castle must be (i have seen the film), but it’s on par with Pratchett for how it grabbed at my insides with its accuracy

omg YES – that book gave me the absolute screaming ragefits, actually. Especially Aunt Maria never calling them by their chosen names. RAGE. An amazing book, and I like the journal style too.

You’re a fan of Diana Wynne Jones?! I’m reading Howl’s Moving Castle to my little sisters now, and they love it!! I’m so happy that I found someone else who enjoys her works!! I thought I was alone!!

HELL no, you’re not alone! I love them, I have a whole ton of her books. I can blitz through one of them in no time at all, but I always feel like I’ve been chatting with a remarkable, wonderful, magical friend, each and every time.

I’m really excited and I don’t have anyone in RL to talk to, so I wanted to share my happiness with you. I have a job interview tomorrow! The job’s part-time, near my house, and I’d be working 20-25 hours a week, which means I can still help out at home while also contributing to the bills. Plus, I’ll be making $1 over minimum wage, with opportunities for raises as I work there. Plus, it’ll be similar to what I did at my last job, so it won’t be as difficult to learn. Sorry, I’m just happy!

Thanks, Nonnie. I am totally DROWNING in work at the moment, aaargh – but it is wonderful work! It’s very lovely to be so in-demand, absolutely, and I am up to my hairline in music and singing, which is awesome – but good lord am I tired. I do miss fandom, and I’m sorry to have been so non-communicative lately. Hopefully things will level out soon!!
