okay, still me, the same anon as before with the letters and the angst and still not sorry. so, idk if this has been asked before, but: pig races? do they happen? how much does Dain love it? does Dain compete? Nori’s betting pool – does it continue after he dies – and does he manage to continue it in the afterlife? ALSO THORIN 3 AND BOMFRIS RACING EACH OTHER – WHO IS THE BETTER PIG RIDER? WHOSE PIG IS FASTER? WHAT ARE THEIR PIGS’ NAMES?

Hey there Angstnonnie!

YES in fact! We chatted about it here and here!

Not even death will stop Nori from running as many books as he possibly can 🙂 Dead, yes. Retired? Neverrrrr.

Ohhhh my god… that is a question that makes the very soul shudder, lmao… Bomfris is headstrong and reckless and CANNOT back down from a challenge. Thorin Stonehelm is a bit more retiring and less confrontational… until he’s backed into a corner. Then you find out that he’s made of fucking dragonfire.

IDK, I think that would be a very close call. Nori would have a time of it, making good on that race! It could go either way!

(Thorin Stonehelm’s pig would absolutely be called something noble in honour of his namesake and personal hero like ‘Deathless’ or ‘Orcsbane’… and Dain probably teased the hell out of him for it. Bomfris would probably name hers something absolutely awful and tastelessly funny, like ‘Ham Sandwich’. Because she doesn’t have a classy bone in her whole body.)

Angst! Toddler Ori who thinks that Ori is his dad. So awkward. And a little adorable.

“No, Dori.”

Daddy!”

“DOR. RI.”

“Daddy!”

“No, sweet one, watching? Are you watching? Look here, look at me now: Dor. Reee. Dori.”

“mmaaaabaaaaa Daddy, herro! Herro Daddy!”

“You’re going to have to live with it for a while, he’s just too little to understand,” said Nori, grinning from the doorway. Dori glared up at him, little toddler arms hanging around his neck.

“Dadddyyyyyyy,” said Ori happily, and he planted a sticky kiss on Dori’s bearded cheek.

Dori sighed and resigned himself to it. He supposed it wasn’t so bad.

Fili and Kili totally do everything they can to have a badass bedroom in the Halls. Vili carved them a badass double bunk bed thing out of the stone (Frerin & Frar helped). Thrain made them really cool racks for stuff- and Thorin made weapons for some and Fris made musical instruments for others. Hrera made them (ugly, hard-won) knitwear. Zhori and Ori and Nori made them awesome blankets and linens (w/fighting patterns). All sorts of cool doodads that they made or traded for or were gifted.

OOOOH very cool ideas! Heh, I wrote a music/drabble thingy about Fris making a violin for Fili: perhaps she made him a stand, too!

(double bunk beds set into the walls always and without fail make me think of Red Dwarf. It is a curse I must bear.)

So excited to finally post these!  A friend of mine organized a big group Hobbit/LotR photoshoot in Rocks State Park, Maryland, and the scenery was just amazing.  I’m not allowed to post much of the group stuff yet because it’s being submitted to a magazine, but the fabulous @houkakyou and I did some individuals as well that I wanted to go ahead and share because I love them ❤  We got to go rock climbing in costume (and slightly almost died >.>), and I learned to smoke a pipe- which tastes highly unpleasant but was so worth it for the results. XD

Costume and makeup- Avallone Cosplay (I have a facebook now! XD)

And at the end, one of the previews from the multi-character shots, by Aalterra Studios, with my awesome buddy Jeff Thomas Cosplay)

YOUR COSPLAY IS SIMPLY BREATHTAKING

Does Mahal ever get really angry or disappointed with his dwarves? If a dwarf who stole or harmed others stood before him, how would Mahal act?

Of course Mahal would get disappointed in his Dwarves, though I feel he has a certain indulgent attitude towards them… but still, I doubt that for instance, the Dwarves who killed Elu Thingol got re-embodied in the Halls somehow.

Mahal obvs doesn’t mind a bit of petty larceny and theft, though. I mean, Nori’s still there! But those who commit grievous and premeditated harm, those who are actually malicious, doing evil with full intent and enjoyment, yes… I don’t think Mahal would have any time for them at ALL.

I also think that Mahal doesn’t really get ANGRY-angry easily… the guy is impatient, sure, but he is also, as Tolkien goes to some pains to say, very humble. Also, as the Maia of stone and minerals and craft, his temper would run slow and cool, like rock… until it REALLY gets hot.

Then, of course – boom
