I am so very excited to present to you all: a podfic of So Cloaked and So Crowned, by @determamfidd. This podfic is special to me in so many ways. First, because it’s been a long time in progress (I started working on this over a month ago). Second because Dets actually composed a piece of original music to serve as the intro and extro for this, and I got to perform that with her (that music will be posted on tumblr soon). Third, because I commissioned @poplitealqueen to draw the cover, and what she came up with is AMAZING.

And finally, because this is my 50th podfic. That’s right folks; in the roughly half a year I have been doing this, I have posted a total of 50 of these. It has been quite the journey. I have gone from not really know that podfic is a thing to having it consume my free time entirely. Yet I have no regrets, because podficcing has brought me so much joy, and so many good friends. Here’s to the next 50!

This is so powerful and visceral and phenomenal, my whole chest feels like it has been bludgeoned nnnngh amazing, amazing, amazing, the art, your incredible voice-acting and sensitive delivery, I JUST.

Finally got over my podficcing fatigue, so here, at least, is chapter 5 of the podfic of Comes Around Again. In this chapter, we learn that Bilbo is a safe bet, that the line of Durin does not have a monopoly on tragic backstories, and that trolls are ALWAYS unpleasant. I am utterly thrilled to bring to you the first chapter of my new long project: a podfic of Comes Around Again, by the marvelous scarletjedi. This story is one of my very favorites, and is actually the one I have wanted to podfic literally since the first day I started podficcing. However, I needed to develop several skill sets before I could attempt this project, including differentiating a bunch of dwarves in one recording, composing music, and many other things. I am so very happy to be starting at last. Thank you a thousand times to scarletjedi for recording permission, and to poplitealqueen, who kindly agreed to let me use her cover art.

I can make no guarantees as to how often this podfic is going to update. Each chapter is close to the longest thing I have ever recorded in one sitting, and there are other technical considerations that are going to make this one slower to produce than some other projects, but I can promise that I will podfic the entirety of the story eventually.
