At long last, we are pleased to present to our faithful listeners the teaser trailer for Chapter 6. We’re working with a new system for compiling lines, so from hereon out you may expect that three chapters will be released in (relatively) short succession, with a slightly longer break between. (Additionally, since HD is teaching, finishing her dissertation and looking for work, it’s also a little bit her fault that things have been a little delayed this time around.)

Hello to all of you singers and Sansûkh lovers! It’s time to prepare for another group number. It’s been a little while since the last time, so I’d like to get another idea of who might be interested.
The piece will be the Mourning Song which you can listen to by clicking Here!
This will be a smaller ensemble, so if you are interested in auditioning, please email me at iamnotanightlight@gmail.com by April 17th.
Once everyone interested has contacted me, I will send out an email with instructions for auditioning. We will be looking for Sopranos, Mezzo Sopranos, Altos, and Tenor/Barritones. I expect to have 3-4 voices per part.

honestly, thanks to the efforts of the amazing Sansukh podfic, I now hear the most delicious multicultural mix of accents when I think of these characters.
For example? Dis, to me, has a warm American accent. This is totally @grimminsanity‘s fault.
(I ADORE YOU AND YOUR GORGEOUS MITHRIL VOICE, GRIMM – even though you make me cry. a lot)
And it is the same for all the cast members. I now write dialogue for the fic with their distinct voices in mind. I do the same for the narration too, knowing that the gorgeous tones of @fuckthisimgoingtoerebor will give it life.
As for characters that HAVEN’T been cast, well… I kind of hear all of them in my own accent still. It’s the one I use in my thoughts, after all! However, I’d be interested to hear what other people think of when they read that character’s dialogue!
(Specifically, though I DO hc Jeri as having an Australian – or perhaps Kiwi – accent, very broad and ocker. Heh.)
I am 90% certain that they are going to be re-recorded, actually! Our musical director is the SUPERB @notanightlight, and she is the person to ask about the Sansukh Choir.
(but in a pinch, my recordings are there to use as a backing track/basis/rehearsal track, so there we go 🙂
So I finally started reading Sansukh and omg it is just as good as everyone says! I was gonna wait until it was done but there’s only 5 chapters left and the last one posted wasn’t a cliffhanger so I can be patient (like Thorin and Bilbo) for the rest!
And there’s so much art and related fic and music to make you cry and a podfic I want to audition for once they open submissions again.

This year has been a whirlwind. In addition to the myriad celebrity deaths, I lost two outernet friends and two laptops. There were fights with family and arguments with loved ones, but none that were permanent. I fell in love.
I made a whole bunch of new fandom friends, and got even closer with old ones. I got to meet @aviva0017 in person for the first time (and she is even more gorgeous in person, shut the fuck up oh my god). Shoutout to @flukeoffate, @the-dragongirl, @notanightlight, @peggaboo-draws, @morvidra, @theriza, for always being around if I need to vent. Sansukh Cast Therapy has been a highlight of this year. Let’s hope it continues to grow and be the light that we all need it to be.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention @determamfidd; she is an incredible writer, an amazing person, and a fierce friend. I don’t have the words to describe what she means to me, and how grateful I am that she is a part of my life; I’d be a very different person if I hadn’t met her. Thank you, Dets. Thank you.
I went to Quebec for Halloween! My girlfriend @internaljohnologue flew me up there for a week to visit her for the first time, and I had a fucking blast. I spoke in a Quebecois accent for a week when I got home.
And finally, however much of a shitshow this year has been, it was the year that I got to meet @heuristicdevice in person, twice. The first time was in May, when she conspired with my husband to surprise me with a visit. The second time was for her birthday this November, where I was in cahoots with @aviva0017 and HD’s roommate to surprise her, only to cave two days before the trip and blab the whole thing. I’m terrible at surprises, apparently. Bright side, I made her cry with happiness, so. Win for me.
I adore you all, and I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store. (Hopefully a more updated podfic schedule OOPS)

This is a post of love for @fuckthisimgoingtoerebor. Over a year ago now, Ricky quite accidentally got me (any so many others) into podfic through the @sansukhpodfic. Now, over a year, many conversations, and many podfic collaborations later, they remain one of the people who makes it most worth it to be a part of the podfic fandom. They have encouraged me, helped me make friends in the fandom, and given me lots of opportunities to stretch my skills as a podficcer. They have been unfailingly supportive and kind to so many of us, and I love them for it.
So, here’s to Ricky Pulsifer! @heuristicdevice, @determamfidd, @notanightlight, will you second me on this?

Ricky is one of the very most wonderful, fantastic, giving, kind and simply good people I’ve ever met, online or otherwise. In my whole damned life. An amazing soul, an amazing artist, a genuinely incredible person.
The amount of work they do is off-the-charts. They’re astonishingly generous with their time and help, handing out resources or a listening ear, and it’s all done with such incredible care and love. I’m gaspingly overwhelmingly glad to call you friend.

heck, I’m looking forward to hearing our Thranduil too, wherever and whoever they are. He’s got some stupendous lines in this chapter, really prickly sorts of lines, that an actor can really get layers into :)))
