I can’t find Gimizh in this list, but he is also sir-not-appearing in the cast list and… is he cast? Is he not? Dwarflings are very important to meeeee and GIMIZH IN PARTICULAR.

I am sorry, archnemeton – Gimizh is to be voiced by the mighty mod, Ricky, who is working their BUTT off to make this all possible. Likewise, Laerophen is to be voiced by our other mighty mod, HeuristicDevice. 

But all three of the sons of Dwalin are still not cast, and will be available for audition in future rounds!

The auditions for Smeagol haven’t opened yet! So you’re in luck!

The podfic is being cast in rounds-of-auditions. If the mods cast everyone all at once, it would be NIGHTMARISHLY enormous. They’re already working themselves into a caffeinated frenzy, we need to be nice to them 🙂

I’m not actually the person to talk to about auditions! To do that, you need to check out the sansukhpodfic tumblr FAQ. I’m just an (astonished!!!) bystander, who squeals a lot. 

I am not sure when Smeagol will be cast – he doesn’t turn up for quite a while in the story! – but if you watch the sansukhpodfic site announcements, particularly the ‘sansukh auditions’ tag, you will be kept informed of what to do and when! Good luck with your audition, Nonnie!

As the mods of sansukhpodfic keep saying, they love your voices. They LOVE them. To not be cast in this round? Doesn’t mean this is a personal indictment of your voice. This is not a rejection of your voice. It means that there was someone who they felt fit THAT ROLE. There are more roles. There are SO many more roles! Your voice? Is perfect for one of those. Believe me, and believe in yourself. This is only the second round. 

You are awesome, and your voice is awesome. 

Look at that list up there, k? It is LOOOOOONG. And it isn’t.

Okay, so in case anyone was wondering whether I can do the Crystaltongue part of the role of Barís (you probably weren’t, but I feel like posting this anyway), here is a recording of the first half of one of my older solos: O Splendidissima Gemma, by Hildegard von Bingen. 

This doesn’t really show off most of my range (I do technically have Barís’s canonical range of F3 to F6), but my microphone has been saturating at anything C6 or higher even on the lowest gain – incidentally, if anyone knows how to fix that, do let me know. And anyway, this solo feels rather appropriate as a sample for a singing dwarrowdam, because the last time I performed it in public was in the caves of Waitomo, when I was living in New Zealand.
