hey, Dets, I was wondering, can you tell me anything about Fris’ parents? Does she get along with them? Do they take part in the great Watch? Do they dote on their grandkids and are they intimidated by Thror and Hrera or not? I noticed that there isn’t any info on them in Fris’s Meet A Dwarrowdam thingy. Thanks!

Hey! Yeah, Ais and Folgar have been watching… but they’re mostly on the sidelines here, too many bosses and not enough workers, that sort of thing!

They ADORE Fili and Kili. ADORE. THEM.

They’re not really intimidated by Thror OR Hrera – well, not any more. Ais is… a lot more chatty and familiar and bustling than Hrera thinks is strictly proper, but they’re decent friends. Ais thinks Hrera has a gigantic stick up her *ahem*, but respects her bravery and stoicism and intelligence. Folgar likes Hrera’s caustic humour, and likes to tease her a bit to draw it out. She ignores that with all the bristly dignity in her.

Ais and Folgar are a very chatty, VERY joking, very busy sort of couple!!!

At first both Ais and Folgar were rather awed and cowed by Thror… but all the time in the Halls has rubbed the edges off his position. He sometimes joins Folgar and his friends for their jolly old drinking-and-pipes-and-darts sessions. He is a lot more quiet and reserved than either of them, but enjoys the company and the comradery.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to fit them into the massive cast of the main fic. (also @fuckthisimgoingtoerebor would KILL ME.) Maybe they’ll get a ficlet or something.

I’ve got a few things on them here on my blog! Try this ask, and this one!

Thror totally developed his cuddle monster tendencies for pillows at a young age. He couldn’t snuggle people all the time, ofc. So we have tiny tot Thror with lots of stuffed toys. He has a big bear toy that larger than him that he snuggles with for sleepytime. Later he acquires pillows. Lots of different textures and colours … Several are made of leftovers or recycled clothes of family members.

*misty eyed* AWWW TINY CUDDLY THROR YUSS

Angsty bit … After Azanulbizar, Thrain and Groin have six kids to mind between them. Trying to keep them all fed and clothed is a challenge, especially while remembering all the dead folks.

oh fuck of course they would, oh my god OF COURSE

Thorin, Balin, Dwalin, Oin, Gloin and Dis

owwwwwwww

now I need the Angsty Ongoing Adventures of Thrain and Groin, both of whom are mourning the loss of family and spouse and damn-near EVERYONE, even as they try to care for six of the most stubborn, traumatised, determined and badass teens & kids everrrr

(Groin would shoot off his mouth when worried, as though arguing with Fundin like he always does… and Thrain ofc cannot respond the way his brother did. It falls flat, they both fall silent…

Groin saying ‘Haban’ thoughtlessly, without thinking, and

Thrain freezes in place, Groin’s throat trying to choke the next words, after …

Thrain sighing over the kids as they discuss what to do about them, this time, Dwalin’s so young, he’s so angry, and wee Gloin doesn’t quite understand, and he absently says, ‘I’ll see what Da thinks…’ or perhaps ‘Thorin, Frerin and Dis…’ before he remembers that it isn’t anymore, there’s no Da, it’s not Thorin-Frerin-and-Dis…

and oh GOD the silence. The awful silence that follows.)

Just thought I’d add this;

Thranduil:

I signed a treaty with a king whose head is in basket.

Do you want me to take it out and ask it?

“Should I help the dwarves King Thror’s head?”

“Uhh do what you want, I’m super dead!”

Thank you so much for posting my earlier submission! You guys are so talented and I love this crossover 🙂

Thror watching Azanulbizar from the Halls (I think you once mentioned that Azanulbizar followed books canon and happened bc of Thror’s death?), unable to do anything. Watching his grandson die and his son descend into madness after being captured. Knowing it was al because he went and got himself killed on a suicide mission.

so this is exactly what happened in Sansukh hey

This has been the Angst Bulletin, thank you for watching
