This is the TLJ anon… I understand why you’d rather not go there; it’s a bit of a hot topic rn :) But I agree with you on the Finn & Rose sideplot and pasted-on romance – basically WTF and bad writing. And yes, the film Where Everybody Fucks Up, including the scriptwriters and the director… it had its moments, but also so so much wasted opportunity.

I mean, I liked the casino idea, that was cool? and the freeing-of-the-weirdly-Ghibli-looking-racing-critters… and I LOVE Rose, like, she is awesome, I love the hints of her backstory and how ANGRY AT THE FIRST ORDER she is, and her amazing sister and ANGSTTTTT and how goddamn beautiful she is and she is just. Amazing. I love her, 11/10.

Finn continues to be AMAZING AND PERFECT ALSO – I love how he is absolutely 1000% committed to protecting Rey and he will do absolutely anything, no matter how dangerous and crazy. Finn’s loyalty to the folks he cares about is just. it’s incredible. It’s so strong it outperforms gravity. Sneaking onto Starkiller, now sneaking onto Snoke’s ship… and then the goddamn salt skimmer thing, like. um, Finn my buddy my mate, you have no sense of self preservation and you would probably give your last breath for your friends, and just. ILU forever you glorious space unicorn

But yeah, just speaking for myself I wasn’t feeling any romance between him and Rose… I WANT epic romance for him, too, so that was ??? The kiss took me by total, complete surprise. By that point I was all, ‘THEY ARE NOW RIDE-OR-DIE BESTIES, ROSE WILL 10000% BE FINN’S BEST LADY WHEN HE MARRIES POE AND REY’ – so yeah, to me the kiss was… wtf was that, where did that come from…

and too, I was confused by that weird lampshading thing happening with General Holdo and Poe, that made me tip my head and go, ‘am I supposed to be angry on her behalf? or Poe’s behalf? Something something something? bc all I can see is misinformation and misleading assumptions on both sides of that kerfuffle, everyone is acting like they are the only solitary single one who knows anything/can fix anything, AND PEOPLE THIS IS MEANT TO BE A TEAM EFFORT… and now a fuckton of people are dead. Again.‘
